Do you get an error message when you try to use the web browser? If so, what does it say?

Did you ever backup your data?

Well.....and i know you will tell me off but i think i only tried to back up once just after we got the laptop.

    the error message is

    • Reload this web page later.
    • Check your Internet connection. Reboot any routers, modems or other network devices that you may be using.
    • Add Google Chrome as a permitted programme in your firewall or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted programme, try deleting it from the list of permitted programmes and adding it again.
    • If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > + Show advanced settings > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.

Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): The server refused the connection.

No need to tell you off, you've learned the hard way :p

Try right clickong on the network icon in the system tray in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and go to "Troubleshoot problems" - that should help point you in the right direction.

where did you find your pictures?

Did you do a factory restore or a system restore

the 3rd link might be useful, it's for backup

    does IE work

    which AV/firewall is in use

    Is it wired or wireless

is there any proxy setting enabled in IE/Chrome
