We had the 20 week scan on friday and we are expecting a girl. It was a complete surprise, i was so convinced that she was going to be a boy that I had been calling her 'him'. I was kind of in shock, but after a while it sunk in and i'm really happy now. She did not like being scanned though, she was kicking around like crazy. It's such a relief to have a piece of paper that proves she has all her organs and limbs and stuff.

I keep teasing DH that i want to call her Johnabelle, or Julie the 3rd. (DH is called John, Me and MIL are both called julie) DH is not sure if I am joking or not.

So anyway, I felt guilty for thinking she was a boy, so I went out and bought her loads of lovely clothes in the sales. I was so relieved to find that i was able to buy baby girl clothes in colours other than pink.

Also , we have shameslessly ripped off Jotheb's blog.

No problem jbbonce! Anyone can do a blog. We found it a great way to let the extended family keep up to date with things.

Post it here so we can have a look.

    I'm still here!!

    Welcome to the newbies, enjoy!!

I did pop on briefly on Sat but don't tend to have time on weekends usually. I did have a good giggle/swoon over the hamster conversation. I am so with you all, I had my fix listening to his voice on Last Man Standing last night. :)

MW is coming later to do a sooty so hopefully will get things moving, although I didn't get much sleep last night as strong cramps (I've given up calling them contraction until they actually do something) kept waking me up.
Is this just ligaments stretching etc or is it Braxton Hicks? I've not had a show and my waters are still intact but Midwife did tell me at appointment this week the baby is engaged so could be anytime.

Sounds to me like Braxton Hicks. Just a warning, please don't get your hopes up that you'll go very soon, I was engaged at 38 weeks and had had a show, with my MW telling me I'd have a baby within 5 days, I'm still going more than 2 weeks later and at least 2 false starts. It has made waiting incredibly hard and I have got myself very upset several times. Continue to work on the basis that you could go 2 weeks over your due date and then if baby comes before then its a bonus. I know how exciting it can be to think you only have a few days left, but it makes it harder if you miss this date and then your due date (as I have, I'm currently 4 days over my DD).

hope it works for you Welshlassie

We're doing a massage course today that's designed for use in labour - I just read the details this morning and it says you get taught breathing and and visulaisation... all very well except I'm stuffed up with cold  All OH's fault as he so generously shared. Still even if I can't breathe today it'll be good to learn the techniques.

All this talk of fancying hamsters and the like has got me thinking...

My sister in law has been working with the guy who used to play Jim Robinson in neighbours. This means my daughter is only 3 degrees of separation from Keither Sutherland and the most gorgeous man to have ever walked this planet, Sawyer from Lost.

Do you think we are close enough to ask them to be her godfathers? Imagine having Jack Bauer at your christening!
