congrats redflame!
april due dates already :eek:0 -
Thanks Curious George, I've seen your name a lot in these posts.
Yeah, well did test today and did online calculator. This will be my first and we (me and OH) are really excited. Only 4 weeks. Am I too eager???
Plus I feel really bad too. Here's a long story....
My best friend has been trying for a baby for nearly two years now and anyway without going into all her story she's now on prescription drugs to help her. Anyway, I knew that it wouldn't be easy telling her and knew that she'd probably take it badly but I told her anyway that I was PG and now she's just said give me a little time.
Should I have told her so soon? Or should I have held off until 12 weeks or whatever. As I said it is my first and sooo excited.:j Mom of 1-Erin Louise born 11.4.08:j0 -
Congrats, Redflame!!!
Its really up to you when you tell everyone!
We waited until our first scan this time around as I lost a baby at 10 weeks last year  and had already told the world and his wife the second we found out...
I'm sure your friend will be happy for you in time. She is probably feeling extremely jealous but also feeling awful for not being instantly happy for you both x0 -

cant decide if thats a good thing or not! lol
I was 4 weeks when we found out too, time seems to drag til 12 weeks thats for sure! personally the only people we told that we were pregnant at the start were the same people i would have told if i had a miscarriage, so it didnt make any difference to me...
and those people were the same ones it would have been very hard to hide from as in early pregnancy if im not feeling queasy, needing air to get away from strong smells or actually throwing up then im alseep
and its quite obvious whats wrong with me!
your friend will come round, its just hard for her to see friends (and i bet it feels like everyone she meets) getting what she wants with no real trouble and she cant do it,
now she is getting medical help it will probably happen in no time, who knows... stranger things havw happened than the pair of you possibly ending up doing most of this pregnancy together!
by worrying about telling her, you already sound like a good friend but just do her a favour... try not to moan about the bad side of expecting to her,
if your feeling awful and complaining about tiredness and sickness and fat ankles... chances are she would still give anything to swap places with you.0 -

My family told me I should have won an Oscar for my star performance :rotfl:I really don't know how I did it looking back as I was so ill! I guess it was my hormones but I was more worried about 'disappointing' everyone again as both families were sooooooo excited first time round.

I don't know if this helps but I was in a slightly similar situation to your friend having had a mc of a much wanted baby. After that I couldn't go near any pregnant friends/colleagues, was just too gutted beyond belief. Not the same I know but you sound a very good friend and I wouldn't be hurt if she stays away for a little while. I don't know if she has anyone to talk to that understands but the girls over on Bounty helped me work through it. Hopefully she will conceive soon and wishing you the best of luck in your pregnancy! :jThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. it is hard to see people around you getting pregnant when you are trying/have lost a baby (i lost baby last year and seemed everyone was pregnant - indeed, SIL gave birth 5 days later, next door a week later and best friend a month later!) but you are still happy for them as im sure your friend will be for you.
when to tell people is personal, first time round we told people when we found out (6weeks) but then had to un-tell them so this time round we only told close friends and parents till 11 weeks (after the scan)
that sounds ages ago now im thinking of it!!
good luck with your pregnancy and congratulations
ps today has been miserable day for me, all i wanted to do was be sat in a beer garden with cold lager! coudl braely get dressed without needing to re-shower!
roll on the next four weeks!!0 -
