Good Morning all, well the sun is shining beautifully here in north Kent, but showers are on the way according to the weather forecast, shame really as I wanted to wash the throws on my sofa.Having had the DGS several times at my house as opposed to theirs during the holidays they have lost their ...pale cream shade :) The throws not the DGS :):) so they need a wash. I may do them anyway and hope for the best as tomorrow is going to be the better day so if it does rain I can bring them in quickly off the line.

A bit of baking is over-due as well as my tins are empty (another result of said grandsons :):))
No shopping to buy as I am doing quite well shopping from the freezer and the tiny top-up shop was enough yesterday to cover the weekend, so I'm putting any food shopping off until Monday at least

So nice to see the sun though it just cheers everyone up a bit I think. The boys are back to school next week so normal life will resume once again.
After school run on Monday its Book Club then pop to let the dogs out for DD then a quick whizz down to Sittingbourne for some food shopping, then home to drop it off then round to pick up DGS from school and back to DDs until she arrives home around 6,15 Just a normal quiet day in the life of this OAP :):):)
Tomorrow I think I will hoover my way round the house and get things looking tidy again now the holidays are over
Hope you all have a good weekend, and the sun shines down on you all
    Cheers chums

  • Quick question. I'm making some meat pies for the freezer. Shall I cook them first or put them in raw?

Another quick question. Defrost or cook from frozen?

    Morning All,

Molly41- That poem had me and OH in stitches!:rotfl:

Funeral went well on Thursday. Lovely to see my Auntie Pat and cousins after all these years.
Yesterday I woke up with a terrible chest infection. Spent most of the day in bed. OH looked after me. Not such a bad cough today, but BP is down and I feel wobbly instead!

OH is hopefully, going to fix the panels back in the greenhouse today and fill up the beds so I can plant out the things on the kitchen window sill.:T
    Scampi and chips for dinner.

Sorry folks, got to go, need to sit down.

Tenyears ago Personal preference. Cooked or uncooked. I prefer to freeze uncooked then they are fresh baked.

    Morning all,

I'm up really late, but needed it I think.
Hi Jacksmummy its lovely here welcome:j
Nmlc good for you go girl
Camelot ooh lovely firemen are you sure your not setting it on fire on purpose:D
molly you've given me and and dh a good laugh this morning
halight ho lucky are you all those girls;)

Lovely here. My dh loves the garden, I don't get to see him from morning to night when the weather warms up. He has moved a hug laurel and we have lots of logs drying to burn next year. The plan is to build a kind of lean to green house, potting shed on the side of our original shed, which means I get my kitchen window back:T
I am bidding on a new sink and taps for our downstairs lol, offered a reasonable buy it now price but they refused so winning them both at the mo for 99p sure they won't finish at that. But will have to wait, my inside jobs come last when he is busy in the garden:)
My DGS and dd will be here this afternoon, he has a birthday party not far from us. Then his dad will collect him at 6 and she will stay over. Tomorrow morning we will go to a local vintage fair were my friend has a stall, and then need some crafty bits and some wool, my perfect day:D
Need to fill the tins today, dh likes twinks with fruit and chocolate and DS likes them without the fruit so have to split the mixture in two halves, also need to make a cake, tea will be hm chicken curry.
    Enjoy the sunshine x

  • Hi Guys!

Had a better nights sleep...those extra tablets I've been given are really helping, but do make me feel a little more drugged up in the morning, so slower to function.

OH made a lovely sausage sandwich for dinner and we had leftover curry from last night for lunch.

Have a friend and her 2 girls coming over and her young niece for the afternoon/evening, so am doing a lovely Leg of lamb with roasties, hm yorkies, mash, sweet pots, swede/carrot mash, parsnips, cabbage, broccoli, peas/sweetcorn and minted gravy made with the meat juices. Yummy! She is going through a very messy divorce atm and her ex is being a right !!!!!hole and trying to get out of paying maintenance. Going to help her with a few bits, but am very worried about her. Her weight has dropped loads, she looks great, but not eating properly, so thought a good proper meal will help, even if just for the girls. Its so sad and don't understand why men/husbands of 10 years + think its ok to go off with other women. I've always said to OH....never tell me...or never let me find out or it'll be 2 BIG HOUSE BRICKS BANGED TOGETHER in a certain nether region:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Anyway, lamb is roasting already and OH making the yorkshires in the pampered chef stoneware and doing a double batch to freeze some. He's prepped all the spuds, parsnips and the swede/carrot is chopped in a bag already. All other veg is being cooked in the steamer as easier to clean and less stuff on the hob:D Friend is bringing puddings;)

DD has her friend here for the weekend. They're off later to the cinema and a meal using my £20 cafe rouge tesco vouchers, so they'll only have to buy drinks and make up any difference in price and a tip.

KFC has a coupon on Facebook for their new crispy fries free for everyone for this tuesday. Just like it and print it out!

WM has been on and DW too and house clean and tidy.

    Hope you're all okay.

Nmlc hey, if you don't stand up for you, who else is going to, eh? Your post didn't sound at all selfish to me; simply you're now doing the logical thing, seeing your folks when you wish, and if DH wants to do something else, then 'tis up to him.:o

Poor old Mr LW has to work all weekend; luckily he's logging in from home, though, so not too bad. He's also on overnight on-call all this week.:( I hate that, because it means he has to have his work phone by the bed, and gets calls at silly o'clock to log in and fix things urgently. It wouldn't be so awful, but my telephone phobia extends to not liking being in the same room if someone else is using the phone.

I've managed to give the bath a good scrub - we take the bath lift out once a week to give it all a really good clean. Usually Mr LW does it, but I said if he got the bath lift out (too heavy for me to lift) I'd have a go myself.:o

It's all quiet here at the moment; Mary's sleeping off her lunch.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon everyone

Just a quick post to say "thanks" for all the support - it does really help. When you've spent years having your self esteem battered it does take work to get it back! I'm still not ultra confident but better and feel in a better place - it's amazing how much better you feel when you look in the mirror and can see that you don't actually look as fat as you thought you did! (Obviously I don't look like I did after losing nearly 5 stone - but I think we all have a tendency to think we look bigger than we actually are). I love now being able to look at clothes off the peg and not think it won't fit or dare I try it on in case it doesn't fit or I look like an elephant in it. Also my whole attitude towards food has changed - the most important thing which has completely changed my life is the lbm when I thought "I know I don't want to be fat anymore", everything changed from that moment.

Thanks again - support and good wishes go a very long way on days that are difficult.

    nmlc x

I think you are doing brilliantly NMLC and agree that you should do the things that make you happy. Your DH sounds very selfish - not you x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
