It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

            Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
I'm awake and enjoying a cuppa, DH has a meeting to go to and needs to leave early, DS2 has a karting lesson and needs to be up had brekkie and dressed for when dad collects him at 7.45am, hence why I'm up at this stupid early hour on a Saturday morning. DS1 up and watching GP quali.
Cloudy with breaks in the cloud, but damp underfoot as we've had some rain during the night, some rain is forecast for later.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken steaks in rolls with salad and skinny chips for the menfolk, and mushroom omlette and salad for me. The packaging has been changed for the chips and I mistakenly picked up the wrong ones, so needed to use them up and all the menfolk declared the meal absolutely perfect! Although I never buy skinny chips to cook at home. It's not the sort of thing that I would normally serve in the week but they seemed to like something different. Tonight we have been invited to mum's as my bro and SIL are coming over and so we will be eating there, not sure whether DH is joining us or not as he said he'd be at his meeting most of the day and wasn't sure if he wanted to come for dinner (he always wants to go to things he wants to do but either won't go or gives me grief about going to things to do with my friends/family, for a long time I've missed out and not gone making up excuses etc, but now have started to put my foot down and if I and the boys want to go we go and he can stay at home/do whatever). I'm not going to let the boys miss out and I don't see why I should either. Before I lost my weight I spent a long time being walked all over and giving in and doing whatever DH wanted, it just seemed easier and created less fuss/arguments, but now I'm in a much better place, and much stronger, I'm able to cope so if he doesn't like it - he can do one! Reading that back sounds very selfish on my part - but I've put up with loads of crap over the years that I really shouldn't have and it's taken a huge amount of commitment and work on my part to stay in the marriage, if I'd lived with DH first before getting married I never would have married him. But I truly believe that once you have children with someone whether you like it or not they have to be part of your life - in some way. DH's family would make my life hell and certainly try to take my children away - it's never been a risk I've been willing to take. And breathe ....................
Have a few job to do today, need to go to the bank, go to SM to buy ingredients for cheesecake to take to mum's later and may run the hoover round and do some baking later.
Now going for a shower and to get dressed before dad gets here to collect DS2.
 Keep safe and well x

Sunny here this morning, but the grass is crunchy under foot.
Hubby's working this morning so the Qually is being recorded, he'll watch it when he finishes. Fish fed, DW needs emptying, just a few pottering jobs I need to do, so fairly relaxing day here.

            Morning all
Hope you don't mind me joining in.
Well it looks miserable outside, hopefully the sun will show its face today so I can get dome washing done.
I found a huge turkey leg in the freezer last night ( its been there for over a yr) so I'm going to chuck it in the SC and use it instead of the chicken in casserole tomorrow
Dinner today is Chilli con carne & rice so will get that prepared to so the rest of the afternoon can be spent unpacking some boxes & decluttering.
Ds is back to school on Monday so need to also bake some lunch box goodies sweet & savoury.. With a sandwich, drink & yogurt he normally will take a sausage roll, & one of those cheese strings thingys but I hate him having all that carp from the SM plus the cost .. Think I will do that tomorrow afternoon whilst DH & DS are cleaning the animals out.
Hope you all have a lovely day ...x0

None of those feminine vegetables for Halight.
nmlc your post made me sad, I hope you are in a better position now. It's important to do what makes you happy.
Quiet day for us. We planned on car booting but the field is sodden so they've cancelled it. We will go to the hard standing one tomorrow.
I might batch cook today. I've got new pies tins and small things like that keep me happy. Other than that I think I'll eBay some more stuff and continue with my baby blanket.
My smoke alarm kept chirping yesterday and I didn't know why. It's connected to the mains so I thought it couldn't be the battery, I didn't realise they had a back up battery. It was already in the house but had no instruction manual. Thank heavens for Google. Back in the olden days I would have called on electrician! One 9V battery later I'm sorted.0
