    FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view) - By Pam Ayres of course..

    The missus bought a Paperback,
    down Shepton Mallet way,
    I had a look inside her bag;
    ... T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey".
    Well I just left her to it,
    And at ten I went to bed.
    An hour later she appeared;
    The sight filled me with dread...
    In her left she held a rope;
    And in her right a whip!
    She threw them down upon the floor,
    And then began to strip.
    Well fifty years or so ago;
    I might have had a peek;
    But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
    She's eighty four next week!!
    Watching Mabel bump and grind;
    Could not have been much grimmer.
    And things then went from bad to worse;
    She toppled off her Zimmer!
    She struggled back upon her feet;
    A couple minutes later;
    She put her teeth back in and said
    I am a dominater !!
    Now if you knew our Mabel,
    You'd see just why I spluttered,
    I'd spent two months in traction
    For the last complaint I'd uttered.
    She stood there nude and naked
    Bent forward just a bit
    I went to hold her, sensual like
    and stood on her left tit!
    Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
    My god what had I done!?
    She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
    "Step on the other one"!!
    Well readers, I can't tell no more;
    About what occurred that day.
    Suffice to say my jet black hair,
    Turned fifty shades of grey
    I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
    Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
    When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Good morning all,
    Sunny here this morning. Washing is out on the line. More going round in the machine.
    nmlc, i hope you enjoy your evening at your Mums x
    Welcome Jacksmummy :wave:
    Need to get some baking done today as the tins are empty. Everywhere needs a quick dust and a hoover. It doesn't take too long to have a quick whizz through. I have a pile of ironing to do so will get that done and put away.
    Tea tonight is chicken curry. Hubby and one dd like their curry with jacket potato and other dd and myself have rice.
    I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

  • Good morning everyone :)

    Weather is lovely here at the moment but am not convinced it will last, so the overnight washing is on the line and being carefully watched.

    Have just had a really good laugh so thanks to Molly's poem and Halight's manly veg :rotfl:

    Need to go and shop and tidy around for DD, I want her resting up and not trying to do stuff. Will take GDD with me or else drop her off at the swimming pool, where she is happy to stay until she resembles a prune!

    I need to go and search the fridge to see what should have been eaten over the last few days and wasn't due to hospital duties. I am sure I can make something for dinner with an odd selection of ingredients, have done it before and will tonight!

    Welcome to Jacksmummy - this is a lovely, friendly, supportive thread. You will like it here.

    I feel so much better for the first decent sleep in days and now I must get moving.

    Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need them or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning All

    nmlc - Good for you, enjoy your evening.
    Molly - That made me giggle!
    Halight - Man Up!!!

    Went swimming yesterday and then to CostcO to stock up on meat. The freezer is now full of little bags of portioned mince, chicken breasts, a huge gammon joint that I cut into 4 and a side of salmon all sliced up. That will do us for a good few months.

    Came home, DD lit the fire and the chimney went on fire AGAIN! :eek:Had to call the fire service but luckily it was a different crew to last time. I have phoned the company who put the liner, etc in but there wasn't really anyone there to help on a friday afternoon so will wait for them to call. The builder who used them to put it in is coming in a mo to have a look and then he will phone. He wont miss and hit the wall!!

    The noise was quite deafening, I thought a helicopter was landing right outside the door but it was the roar of the chimney. I have every respect for the fire service, they were quick and efficient again and don't leave until they are sure that all is safe. They do like a cup of tea though!!

    Anyway, managed to cook sausages and veg for tea and had to go out for a big bar of chocolate which was swiftly de-cluttered.

    Washing on the airers as it is very damp outside, still waiting for the hoover part to come so that will have to stay messy for now.

    Have a good weekend, take care. XX

    Welcome Jackmummy, yes I think you are gonna like it here!!

    The turkey leg will be fine, I keep stuff in the freezer for far longer than it says on the packaging and it has always been fine.
