Leaves can go in salads or sauces. (or chopped in sour cream or mayonnaise)
Depending on which variety they make an excellent substitute for garlic or spring onions. Wild garlic grows in abundance near where I live, I've always wondered if I could eat it without croaking...ta much.0

and the food for free book is.....??? apart from sounding interesting??!!! although I am sure there is none in the damp woods behind me - maybe I'll plant some - the smell would be better!!!0

I live in Yorkshire Murtle.... but fortunately not in one of the bits currently underwater. Mind you, a friend of mine who lives about 30miles away watched his car go sailing (literally!) down the street last night!♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0 -

I've heard of that book but never seen it.....must look out for it in the charity shops!!! Does you book say anything about wild onion cos there's loads of that too....?

oh dear I'm really sorry to hear that!!! maybe that's the problem for the garlic - it's not damp enough here, it's been in the 30's today with quite high humidity levels....soaked everytime I spend too long outside, but not through rain :eek:0
