Wild garlic

I have found a few posts about wild garlic, but not much and I can't find much online although I have now ordered two books... which is not quite so money saving.
We have lots of wild garlic growing around us and one of my neighbours was raving about it, but when I asked how he used it he said just throw it in a stir fry. He did say towards the end and that it doesn't take much cooking.
I do intend to try this, but think it must have lots of other uses and would love to hear the thoughts of others. My boyfriend isn't very keen on anything green and I feel I don't eat enough fruit and veg on a regular basis. I am planning on having some as wilted greens with sea bass and maybe making some pesto.
Any other suggestions and encouragement would be very much appreciated.0 -
My favourite is in scrambled egg. I just wilt it in margarine and then scramble the egg.
It really needs very very little cooking, the other option is just to wilt it and eat as greens. Possibly a minute at most. No water needed. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
You may have better luck looking for recipes for Ramsons.
Try Nigel Slater or Celtnet are worth looking at.

I've added your thread to our main one on wild garlic where you should find lots of idea.

Find somewhere to store it other than inside your refrigerator - the scent can be quite remarkable.
Other than that, cut it into very fine ribbons rather than big chunks. It's quite potent and you don't want to overpower everything.
And the flowers themselves are all you need to accompany something like steak and salad. I'd consider sprinkling them onto a pat of butter melting on top of the steak rather than faffing around with garlic butter.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
If you are reading this thread thinking I wish I could get some of that.. Riverford is selling it for 1.95 https://www.riverford.co.uk0

be sparing with it! treat it as very potent herb (which I suppose it is). lucky you - I haven't found any wild garlic near me since they built houses on the one place it ruddy grew!0
