Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April 2013 - what small things......

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :j
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Good morning folks, thought I would start the thread today as I have been awake since about 5am.
Hugs to those that need them and hi to any newbies.
Hopefully everyone with hormonal/emotional problems and bugs are feeling a bit better today
Todayi have/will:
Think that is it for me today
Take care all

Hi everyone and happy weekend! Lurker taking the plunge to change. Huge amounts of debt, but were dealing with them!! :j together!!
Heres my list for the weekend:
* Write down monthly budget as have had some changes
* Continue finding things for bootsale/ebay
* Meals from stores
* List 5 items on ebay
* Work out meal plan/whats already in the stores ready for shop next week.
* Write to my union as apparently I am not a member but they still take the money from wages every month.
* Have some time in the sun with DD
Thats my list for now, lets see what else I can get up to! :rotfl:
Have a good weekend!
- Well theres no sun here now just the rain but we went and got some cheap fruit and veg from the market, picked DD up a couple of little birthday presents to put away (spent £2.59 on some Disney items - love a bargain), and have started the budget, I cant believe how much comes out of my account every month, its ridiculous, must look at reducing the total!!
*** I have received an email re: leaflet distributing for some extra money which I had enquired about a while back - tried calling the number given but no answer - fingers crossed they get back to me. Extra pennies in the spare time - dont mind if I do! Has anyone experienced working as a leaflet distributor? Any tips?0 -
Morning DFW-Ninjas and welcome timetorebuild and EchoDelta,
We use a lot of preserved garlic in our cooking but are finding it increasingly difficult to buy it cheaply and our cultivated garlic is still growing. So yesterday OH and I went for a foraging walk in the woods behind our house and came back with a carrier bag full of wild garlic which is in season just now before the flowers fully appear. (There must have been a whole acre of them; the wood could spare a bagful!) Then we spent the afternoon cooking with it and preserving it.We infused some oil with chili and garlic, pickled some garlic, blanched some leaves and froze them to use as an alternative to spinach and made garlic rice for dinner. If you want to forage wild garlic make sure you don't confuse it with lily of the valley which is poisonous, though the smell of the wild garlic is unmistakeable! (Link to see the difference)
