Is this the right idea?
Colgate toothpaste- £1.94 x2
minus Colgate coupon- £0.40 x2
minus the maximum reduction on the 2 for £3 - £0.78 x2
So £3.86 value for £1.52
Listerine Mouthwash - £3.68 x2
minus the reduction on 2 for £5 - £1.18 x2
So £7.36 for £5
Dettol Handwash - £1.97 x2
minus the reduction on 2 for £3 – £0.47 x 2
So £3.94 value for £3
So far £15.16 value at £9.52
Minus
£2.50 off coupon
£1.25 Quit coupon
£1.00 Healthcare
giving £4.77
Just want to check i'm on the right track with the savings that i am working out before trying to get to trying to work out how to get Tesco to pay me to take stuff awayDebt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -
Yes thats the right idea, cept you could use 3 quit packs and 3 £1 ones too.
Not sure of your workings out though, if I've done it right you should have: £15.18 before offers
£11.00 after reductions
Use £2.50 x1
£1.25 x3
£1.00 x3
£0.40 x2
Total to pay £0.95
I think!0 -

There are two types of Colgate on offer, one more expensive than the other, would the more expensive one be used on the 2 for £3 reduction?
Now off to find the leaflets and a nice young man on the checkout:DDebt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -

Not silly, everyone has to start somewhere.;)
H&B stands for Health & Beauty, checkout the first post of this thread & evrything is explained there."I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

in between food and drink and household I've got a toiletry & baby section.
If not then if you click on the specail offers, then the sub section health and beauty. Then you get all the offers for the toiletries section. HTH
Thanks Manda, but it must just hate me as I haven't got either of those LOL - how very bizarre - perhaps Mr T have bugged my PC and know what I'm up to so have banned me looking at the website? :rotfl:Oh..I feel all criminal nowDo not feed the trolls please.0 -

I did some fabulous shops in Tesco today as had quite a few moc's to get rid of that were close to expiry.
I don't know if its only me that feels this way but while I am going round the store, I daren't put the expensive things I want to buy in the trolley, I start off just putting the basics in like milk and bread so that if it goes wrong, I won't have to pay a fortune for things I wouldn't normally buy unless they were free.
My young son who comes with me said to me today that we should assume we will be lucky at the tills and put stuff in the trolley accordingly. I can see where hes coming from but I always assume that if I did do that, fate would step in and give me a supervisor taking over the till at the crucial moment!
However, today was fabulous!
I put lots of things in the trolley along with 2 lots of HB as we saw our favourite happy scanner at a till and I was feeling brave
Split the shop into 2 on the belt and he scanned the first lot which came to £40+ as we had bought a PS2 game alongside the bread etc. he scanned everything I gave him and the total was £1.05 :T
I felt more confident after that so wasn't worried about the 2nd set of shopping and true to form, he scanned all the coupons again and I paid another tiny amount
We retired to the car to sit and gloat over the receipt (its not just me that does that I know!) and decided that we should go back in and take advantage of the fact our fav sa was on.
I went back in and this time allowed myself to put whatever I fancied into the trolley including stockpiling on the basics like washing powder/toilet rolls/air freshner etc etc.
He scanned it all again and didn't seem surprised to see me and once again paid less than a pound for a £40+ shop :rotfl:
I wasn't very good at this to start off with and quite a few times got caught out by choosing the wrong sa and ending up paying a fortune (compared to what I wanted to pay!) for my shop.
Lately I have got very good at it indeedand have now reduced my weekly shop down from £80+ to less than £10
Long Live Tesco!Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110
