1 x £2.50 HB
2 x £1.25 Quit
2x£1 H&B toiletry coupon
which would mean you would pay 20p!!
After bogof you would have £5.06 to pay, using the above coupons that would leave you in credit of £1.94 (to take off your other shopping).
Personally I'd only use one if the £1 toiletry ones so as not to push my luck with using more than one per transcation. You'd still be 94p in credit. An depends on how many coupons you've got.0 -
I have been buying the John Frieda range with my limited Hb and Sb vouchers. I am so happy they are on 342, its a really good range and something I normally do pay real money for (rarity
) but the £1 toiletry voucher doesn't work with this combination.
Has anyone had any success using the £1 toiletry voucher from the HB leaflet in combination with the £2.50 professional shampoo range from the Sb leaflet?Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
I haven't tried but I'd be pretty sure it wouldnt work, I think they're classed as beauty as they're professional haircare so a luxury rather than normal shampoo which would then be a toiletry hence they do work.0

Ok ,I am off out soon for my first H&B shop.
If I get
2 x wash and go BOGOF = £3.48
2 x Sunsilk BOGOF =£ 3.54
2 x Palmolive handwash BOGOF= £3.10
Total £10.12 before BOGOF
How many coupons should I hand over ,I have SB,quit and H&B coupons???
I will be doing a food shop at the same time to disguise my H&B.
Oops, sorry just seen manda1205's reply
Many thanks,
You can use -
1 x £2.50 HB
2 x £1.25 Quit
2 x £1 HB
Total coupons = £7.00
BOGOF = £5.06
Total in credit £1.94 towards your other shopping
HTH
Oops, sorry this is what manda1205 just said, just seen her postI AM WHAT I AM0 -
Right, need the professionals advice lol.
We're on a very tight budget at the moment, and don't really need Shampoo etc that seem to be on the BOGOF offers. What we really really need is some mouthwash and tampax, and possible allowed purchases will include, body moisturiser and dental floss. (the Oral B mouthrinse didn't appear to be on BOGOF at my store, only the money saving offer offers (ie buy 2 for £5)
Therefore, yesterday I went into my nearest large Tesco, and pilfered the Pharmacy counter for loads and loads of voucher leaftlets (I think the way they are hidden under loads of other leaflets is why they are there), and tried to buy a load of stuff. It didn't quite work as I only had £2.61 on me, and after all the deductions etc it came to £3.55 argh!
So, some quick rules going over - (example at end)
1) The till adds up everything you buy *at list price* to a total.
2) It then takes off any coupons you present in order, with each coupon taking more off and therefore changing how much you have spent
3) It takes any offer values off.
IE
1)Let's say you are purchasing 2 x mouthwash on offer at 2 for £5 (or £2.98 each) and 2 x Tampax on offer at 2 for £4 (or 2.99 each) and a bar of soap at £1. This is added up on the till to be
2.98 x 2
2.99 x 2
1.00
=12.94
2) You then give in the £2.50 when £10 spent coupon, so it reduces to £10.44, then a £1.25 when £5 spent coupon so it reduces to £9.19, another £1.25 coupon so it goes £7.94, then a £1 off followed by a £1 off leaving you with £5.94.
3) It then takes the multibuy values off at 1.96 for the mouthwash and 1.98 for the tampax, leaving you with 1.97 to pay.
Is that right? Or have I done it all wrong (the actual products at this stage don't matter so much btw, just the order and values)
Second problem, what consists of what? Yesterday the lady said that Tampax doesn't count in any of the offers, but there is a picture of sanitary towels on the £2.50 voucher so it's either beauty or toiletries, and the other vouchers are either toiletries or beauty or something, so I am confuzzled...anyone able to shed light I would be grateful. As I need tampax really and can't afford them.
Another quick question (sorry) can you do the coupons on self scan? It might be easier whilst I get to grips with it as yesterday I spent forever holding everyone up whilst the lovely lovely SAs tried desperately to help me lol.
Thanks in advance if you can help clueless meDo not feed the trolls please.0 -
Hi PixiePie -
Looking at your numbers, you have the gist of how the till works out the total, well done! And obviously it all depends on choosing the right SA, some won't scan any coupons, others will scan whatever you hand them.
Have a look at tesco.com to see how Tesco categorizes their items and to see which is which, ie toiletry/beauty/healthcare. And as for expensive Tampax, how about buying Tesco's own brand equivalent? They're definately cheaper and do the same thing.
Good luck with your coupons and hope you get some free stuff. Make sure to combine vouchers to max out savings, against £10 of H&B items you should be able to use:
2x £1 off £4 H&B
1x £2.50 off £10 H&B
2x £1.25 off £5 QK
After BOGOFs and/or other offers this may leave you with money off your other shopping!
Let us know how you get on and HTH someone

PS Re. the SelfScan tills, they often are set to beep when using coupons and then a Supervisor has to come over and approve the transaction. SS tills are not set the same across the country, it is a bit hit and miss using them. If you have strong nerves, give it a go at your store, but I prefer people SAs when using coupons

Excellent, many thanks for all that, and great idea about going on the website to see how they are categorised (doh! Didn't think of that LOL).
