Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Two)

Hi, can I remind people doing MS and telling the tax people, to claim for paper and ink for your printer. I,ve gone through loads more since I started this, so keep your receipts folks. Also, I would, imagine elecrticity in running computer/printer. No idea how to work this out though, sorry. I dont have a car but for some companies I upload bus tickets ect. some will reimburse you for this. Worth a try!

Anyone else having probs printing of Gfk/NOP paperwork? I've already had to cancel one job with them 'cos I couldn't get it to print. I've sent 2 e-mails, spoken to someone and left them a voicemail but it's not been resolved. I'm going to have to cancel another job if it carries on which would mean I haven't carried one out for them yet, just cancelled the first two I've booked!

Frankly I'm thinking it's more hassle than it's worth and I'll just cancel the job and not book any others. Itll be a shame 'cos it pays ok and will take a lot less time than many of the others, but I do have other things in my life!!!

Any help gratefully received.

As it so happens, I have my first job today and printed the paperwork off yesterday - I had no problems whatsoever - what was the nature of your difficulty in printing?

I have a job from Gfk; if they say the fee is 9.50 including expenses, does this mean they deduct what I spend buying the itmes for the mystery shop from my final pay?

If so this is such a rip off (£4) as they require what is in my opinion a very detailed report!

If this is the new (Orange) GfK site then yes, I agree, it is a total rip-off. GfK has gone downhill so so much since they abandoned the old NOP pink site & way of working.:mad:

What it means is they will pay you a flat fee of £9.50. It is then up to you to work out on your Self-Employment tax return what portion of that was for expenses (bus fare or milage/required purchase etc), & what very little will be left over as a taxable fee.

You should be able to change it yourself, from the "My Assignments" page, as long as the Friday is available.

I do it frequently, to make assignments from different companies coincide on the same day. I dont think it counts against you.

Whilst on the subject of Gap, I'm very pleased 'cos this morning I received my special kit of equipment so I can now do coffee assignments

Also ... you know you can save your favourite searches? I have one saved with all the towns I visit, and am sick of having to go through pages of burger & fried chicken assignments to get to the ones I want. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to hide these from showing up? Thanks.

I'm starting to wonder whether this mystery shopping lark is worth my time as a way of making money...:( - I was so optimistic about this too!

My connection is painfully slow and it's taking me ages to read through the MS threads :mad: - ok I'll get to the point, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone send me a link to the thread/post that detailed the list of mystery shopping companies and also the bit about registering for tax - I can't find it anywhere. :rolleyes:
