Hi hldomster. I've been doing ms work for about 6 months for maybe 8 companies. On a very good week I can make £100 but usually more like £40 and I top up income by other means. The work seems to get increasingly better paid the longer you do it but in th beginning I was lucky to break even! I wouldn't give up the day job yet!

I'm totally shattered today, I did 4 M/Shops yesterday and 6 today.......you just have to remember to factor in the time for the paperwork as well. I've not got any tomorrow, I need a day to recover and keep up with the family. My other half is getting more and more annoyed because I'm spending so much time trying to pay off the mortgage and neglecting her.....so for her sake, and our relationship, i'm going to have to rein the MS'ing in a bit!

My DH feels the same. I think he's getting a bit more resigned now (and I have reined it in a little bit! ;)) but he's really fed up with me sitting here with the laptop, night after night, completing MS. And the cat sulks because I can't have him* and the laptop on my lap at the same time.

*the cat. Not the DH. Although he doesn't fit on my lap with the laptop either.

Theres a website, https://www.postcodeanywhere.co.uk where you can put an address in, and you can find out the store next to it. It's a godsend if you forget to look!

I have done this before and I have either gone on the internet and tried to search the yellow pages or I have gone back to the place and looked what was there.

On this occasion I would not worry if you can't find out, as you have the shop one side. However, here are some....

Strategies for finding out what the shops either side are
(I forget to look all the time!)

    1. Google the shop you mystery shopped, ring them and say you are meeting a friend there. Ask what is either side.

    2. If you know what's on one side, ring THAT shop and say that you know they are next door to '*' - could they possibly tell you what's the other side of '*'

    3. Google the address you want to find. (Normally '*' plus and minus 2!)

    4. Double check your paperwork - one company actually tells you what is either side!!! (Gap doesn't, though.)

    5. Look on the site of the chain you are MSing - sometimes there are photos of the shops.

    6. And beerintheevening sometimes has photos of pubs.

    7. This can be useful when you forget to look for coffee shops!

Other suggestions welcomed!!! I don't know what it is about me, that I keep forgetting to look:o I have even perfected the art of sitting in a shop eating a pizza and looking at the shop windows opposite to see the reflection of the shops either side. But I STILL forget about it sometimes!!!

PS If you can't remember the shops either side, you can also describe what you CAN remember. AFAIK the main reason for them asking is to check you have DONE the visit, and been to the right place.

Jobbing Musician, which company tells you which stores are to the left and right? I haven't come across this company yet!
