Sorry I didn't word that well. It didn't tell me which to do so I did it as a walk in. If you're not sure I emailed hefalkeh (sp?) and she was really helpful getting back to me very quickly each time.

I know what you mean, I think I emailed her at least four times before I did the job because I wasn't sure what I was doing. It was my first ever ms too! She was very patient lol
    Good luck!

If you happened to do an assignment that you couldn't remember whether it was a Friday or Saturday you would get away with it once but you would have to remember not to do it again?

I really don't think the IR would care whether it was a Friday or Sat, as it wouldnt affect the amount of tax payable, normally. Or are you thinking that you drive to Xanadu for your day job Mon-Fri, but would claim it as a separate visit if you did a MS on a Sat? In that case it WOULD matter, yes. If the IR did look at your accounts, they might think that you had changed the date in order to avoid paying tax on the travel element. (But I think you are right - the amount of tax payable on this one mistake would be negligable and if the rest of your accounts were in order, and you were obviously trying to be conscientious, I'm pretty sure no further action would be taken. After all, can you imagine the headlines in the papers - IR SUES MS FOR UNDERPAYMENT OF 79p - I don't think so.......)

The reason I keep track of when I do all my jobs is so I don't get confused, as I am a MS of very poor memory! I couldn't easily forget when I did a job as it would be in my diary - if I didn't write jobs in my diary, I would never remember when to do them!

I print out all the questionnaires then fill them out in the car so I don't forget anything! That way it only takes a couple of mins to pop back if I need to rather than making another car journey. Sometimes print guidelines, but if they are obvious I just note down the key points to remember.
