Have you checked your junk mail? I've had a couple of payments go into there, both have been what could be interpreted as dodgy emails address for the filter. i.e. se*ysusan@xxxxx was one of them.
I emailed the buyer to warn her of a possible problem and here reply was 'oh yeah, it happens all the time'

You know, that pound sign changing to show someone's paid, don't rely on that at all. It fails every now and then - check the paypal account itself.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. I phoned ebay about this , they checked into it and told me that the buyer had made no attempts to pay by paypal .0

I wouldn't trust ebay CS about a paypal issue.
What you need to do (and as you've been advised but not directly responded to) is to log in to your PAYPAL account and check there. When someone suggested that you replied saying your ebay account should be more difinitive. Wrong, ebay and paypal are two seperate sites and use an API to update each other. If that fails then one will know nothing about the others transactions.
You should have logged into paypal and told us the result. You haven't and that IMO makes you one of those sellers who doesn't communicate well.0 -
As 16.
Have you checked yourself?0 -

yeah , I checked it , no sign of any payment . Of course that wouldn't tell me why it had failed (if they really did attempt to pay ) . Someone earlier suggested that I ask for the paypal transaction ID , which I'm still considering . I figured first I better make sure there's no error on my end , so I've been checking my details etc.0 -

Now you're just being difficult virgil. You've not only ignored the point and refused to answer about checking your paypal account directly, you've also told us that you were saying your response about being definitive was in response to something about junkmail. As shown above, you clearly say you checked your ebay dashboard which you think is more definitive.
I'm starting to think you HAVE got the payment but are trying not to admit it because you're trying to scam ebay / the buyer somehow. It's been suggested several times that you check your paypal account directly and you continue to ignore it.
You remind me of a seller I had dealings with recently. He also ignored things he didn't want to deal with.0 -
