a dishwasher or washing machine not cleaning has nothing to do with the water pressure, neither are a timed fill, if the water pressure is low they just take longer to fill, however if the water pressure is very low then the fill valve may not open so in that repect they do need a min pressure to fill, so that may be a contributing factor, it could be due to a blocked or kinked drain hose not allowing the machine to empty the dirty water correctly
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

    Be wary of Bosch:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/9933927/Bosch-half-a-million-dishwashers-that-catch-fire-still-being-used.html

We're replacing ours because its old, but may have done anyway given this story.

Why? Bosch didn't retail those machines direct, so they don't know who's bought them. They can only work with the retailers, who may or may not have the info, and some of whom (Comet for one) are no longer trading. And people do move house...
If you enter the serial and FD nos. into the link on the Bosch site then you can instantly tell if your machine is affected. If it is, contact Bosch and they will fix it for free.

    Hello Nagme.
I have a Beko 5411 dishwasher and I have had the same problem with poor cleaning on the upper rack. It was easily solved by making sure that the rack is pushed fully to the back so that the grey plastic water pipe it carries is pushed fully onto the hole at the back of the machine. It is possible to close the dishwasher door fully and comfortably even when the top rack is not right at the back, so that is not sufficient to ensure it will be ok. If you wiggle the rack about a bit then it goes back another cm or two (maybe 3/4 of an inch) and then stops when fully home.

I have had this DW for about a year and it has been very good indeed - easy to use, good performance and very quiet.

    Hope this helps - Jono

    Well, the engineer's been.

After a great deal of shaking and tapping he extracted a 15mm triangular piece of plastic from the lower spray arm. How something that size got into it I don't know, but he did suggest that the filters are inferior on these dishwashers. How true this is I'm not sure.

Anyway - hopefully this was a one-off and I won't have any further issues with the spray arms.

If anyone else has a DWD5412 and it's not cleaning properly, then spend a few minutes examining the spray arms - give them a shake to see if there's anything rattling around, and check the holes both on top and underneath the arms. Water may run through the holes when you hold it under a tap but there may still be something stuck inside!

Thanks to everyone who posted :)
