:hello: guys, it's been a busy day on the depression thread. I think a lot of people are in need of a hug so here you go

It's great that there are so many people on this thread supporting others and helping people with various problems even when they themselves aren't feeling too good. It's really lovely :) I'm really glad we have this thread on here.

    Hi everyone!

I love these "black dog" illustrations.....

    https://www.timesonline.co.uk/blackdog

'Black dog' has been used as a symbol of depression since Celtic times
Matthew Johnstone (the book author) is a creative advertising director and was diagnosed himself with dysthymia (chronic major depression).

Tell the dog to get lost, everyone! This depression you have is not actually you!

cb2, I know you mean well but if it was as simple as telling it to get lost don't you think we'd all be leaping about with delight? I don't think any of us are defined by our illness.. indeed in my real life, most people don't even know I have any form of depression, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

This thread is a place where we can come and share all the feelings and experiences we don't feel we can tell anyone else, and I don't think any of us benefits from having those feelings trivialised by implying that we can just stop it at will.

I hope I didn't offend you but I felt I needed to say that.

    Morning folks ,
off to the charity shop in a while, always interesting down there,a few troublemakers and people who want written receipts for goods to the value of 15p!

this may cheer some up in a way, had my first wet bed in a while so what does that make me,random bed wetter!,we all have our loads to carry and stuff to deal with! doing the laundry right now!

pees me off(no pun intended) about womens dress sizes,i know a few larger ladies who are probably size 16 -18 yet they are beautiful women, people need to remember the maxim "one size does not suit all",you all know i mentioned my daughters anorexia so i have issues about perverted thinness esp as it could kill my daughter.

    take care all
