Hi andi!:hello:
How are you this afternoon hun? I'm still trying to play catch up so you've probably posted the answer to that already.:o
quote=andipandi;
Tiff
Been having a look at your reply to my post, thanks for taking the time to answer in detail,
You're welcome hun.
the alcohol thing is ingrained with my workload and a massive trigger esp after a hard days graft performing miracles, however i would say that generally i am pleased with my current controlled drinking efforts but when the depression arises from within i can go OTT.
I can appreciate that andi - alcohol's a common tonic for a stressful job. What kind of field do you work in hun, if you don't mind me asking?
I think it's a real positive that you can recognize when and why you get to feel the way you do with your depression hun. Believe it or not, that's good to have that insight.:T
I tend to suffer from chronic depression about once a month and thats where i was when i posted the other day, kinda thought it was better to get it out rather than sit around considering 1way ticket to a tall spot shall i say.
That's okay andi - we'd rather you post than take the other option hun! Have you had any medical input at all andi?
This board is amazing as you'll already know. It's a bit like a crossroads I think - some people just stop off at a certain point in their journeys to rest, to learn, to help and others feel on home ground here and stay - either way, you're guaranteed a welcome.;) :T
The other stuff i mentioned well we all have that s**t to deal with it just becomes magnified at times.
How true hun. But, that doesn't diminish the pain or confusion or the problem when we're going through it. That is very real no matter how many times we go through our low spots imho. Pain is still pain and it hurts regardless and we're all allowed to express that on here hun.;)
With regard to my son well hes always had issues with me,an angry young man at times i guess,i don't think i am prepared to be told what to do with my life considering i lost the lot when i divorced his mum for adultery(tempted to rant here but i will refrain!).
well nuff said for now
I hope I wasn't prying andi?
I'm sorry if I trod on senstive ground angel and that I was so close to the truth.
I can understand some of what you must be going through.
I'd just had the feeling that there'd been a marriage/relationship breakup of some kind - it felt like you were re-establishing yourself.
For what it's worth hun, considering I know nothing and it's not my business, you do sound in a better place than you think you are. You're obviously talented and express yourself well. Inspite of all the pain and upset in such a situation on all sides, you're working hard and rebuilding a life for yourself and that takes a lot of courage.:T
I think that like so many on this thread,:A , you're a natural survivor andi and I wish you mcuh happiness to come. Don't ever worry about posting here - you're already part of the extended family as it were.;) Keep us posted as to how you're doing - there's a lot of experience and resources around on this thread should you need them. Take care.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -

Hi guys!:hello:
Well my little chipmunks, I'm still on page 17 and I'm all Tiffed out.I hope all our poorly peeps are feeling better and I'm sending Tiffy hugs out to you all.:A (((huglets)))
I hope this doesn't offend anyone (sorry in advance!):o - I just want to start your weekend with a little smile - or groan!;)
Typically, I bet you've all heard it before!
God, The Atheist And The Bear
An atheist was taking a walk through the woods."What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself. As he continued walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes. Turning to look, he saw a 7 foot grizzly charging towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. Looking over his shoulder he saw that the bear was closing in on him. His heart was pumping frantically and he tried to run even faster. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear raising his paw to take a swipe at him.
At that instant the atheist cried out: " Oh my God...!"
Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent.
It was then that a bright light shone upon the man and a Voice came out of the sky saying: "You deny my existence for all of these years, teach others that I don't exist , and even credit creation to a 'cosmic accident.' Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?! ?"
The atheist looked directly into the light and said: " It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but , perhaps, you could make the BEAR a Christian ?"
" Very well," said the Voice.
The light went out, and the sounds of the forest resumed. And then the bear lowered his paw, bowed his head and spoke:
" Lord, bless this food which I am about to receive and for which I am truly thankful . Amen. ":rotfl:
Ok, ok - stop throwing the tomatoes!
Be kind to yourselves guys and have a good evening. Thinking of you all.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -

SF Well done getting through your exam. Bet you are relieved. Hope you have a great relaxing weekend.
uKatie I missed last nights Kate & Peter!!! I wanted to see it. Sorry to hear that you got upset at your appointment. At least you let it all out.
Ethel You are a hell of a woman. Have a good kip. Hope your daughter is ok.
uGL I agree, what people portray isn't always the truth. My friends portrayed being the happiest most content person in the world. Then it turns out her partner was taking cocaine and making her sleep with other women  There was us thinking what a fantastic life she was having. Then he goes out on Xmas eve looking for a prostitute! Needless to say, that was the last straw and they are no loner together.
Tiff Not long til your holiday. Hope you are well despite being very busy. I am sure the weather will be just right for your break.
LTR Good to hear that you are on the up!
Andi How did the time at the charity shop go?
Juno Good luck with all the interviews. I will be doing the same in a few months.
McLaren I don't know your full situation but I can tell you are a caring, loving person. U have a great talent to boot. Hope you are feeling better this evening
RBK How you doing kiddo? Hope your bro is ok.
Rose Yey the plaster is off. Enjoy yourself later.
QB Hi hope you are okay
I had an ECG today. Yep my heart is missing a beat but nothing to worry about!! Could be the medication then again they can't be sure. Arrrggghh
An hour after have the ECG a vein in my leg (I don't have varicose veins) became really big and swollen and sore. I went to scratch my leg, felt the lump underneath my jeans and had a look. Well I nearly died. The vein was massive. It went down after 10 mins and now is purple and bruised and sore. Not sure what that is about.
We went to Cromer yesterday. Was knackered when we got back.
Oh my boy Becks is playing tonight!! Phwwoarrr. Vicky is okay with him staying at mine tonight too. Bonus!!
Have a good evening everyoneLife is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0 -
Hi gilly!
You poor thing! How are you feeling today angel? Tonsilitis is no fun and feels worse when you're an adult imho.
Have you seen the gp hun? More likely, you need to have a home visit if you don't improve - they don't like it when you throw up on their nice waiting room floor.:rolleyes:Is there anyone who could pop in to check on you and do a few bits and pieces gilly? Hate to think of you being poorly and having no help.
I hope you're feeling better this morning sweetie. Take care and remember to call dr if you don't improve. Thinking of you hun.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx
Thanx girlie
I'm not right, but I'm alot better.
Once the antibiotics started to kick in I have improved.
In 2 weeks I'm seeing dr and he is refering me to ENT bloke.
xxxGirls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.
I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else0 -
Karrie, Even though it's listed as a common side-effect, it still sounds serious. I would make an appointment with your GP and mention it. He/she will know whether it's something to be concerned about or not. It will also put your mind at rest.
Tulip :hello: What makes you think that your parents don't love you enough? It's easy to post about how you really feel on here because you know that no-one is going to judge you. In real life, what you do or say to someone usually has consequences, so it's a lot harder.
Do you have a good support network? Friends/family/boyfriend/husband?
What was the old you like? How does it differ to the person you ar now?
I bet you can't wait to see Katie PriceYou'll have a good time.
It is a shame that I don't have anyone that I can meet up withit does make me sad and unhappy. Life is very lonely.
Did you have a good time at the day centre?
mclaren, Surely working all the hours that you do you are entitled to a number of weeks holiday a year? I can imagine that being a carer is a very rewarding job. It's a job that I know I couldn't do but I admire those who can. It requires a special type of person to be a carer
Make sure you get a Doctor's appointment
My brother is fine. The reason he was arrested was because back in Dec 2005 him and his friends apparently said to a black girl 'Hey girl, shake your booty' and it was classed as racial abuse. The outcome of it was that as it happened more than 6 months ago there was no action to be taken.
rose07, You are always on the go lolI do hope your foot is beginning to feel better. Are you still in a lot of pain?
Have a great time tonight, tomorrow e.t.clook after yourself xxx (((HUGS)))
Tiff, :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: v.good. That made methank you hun.

Hi gem!:hello:
Good to hear from you - how are you hun?
quote=geminilady;
Hi Rbk,just thought i would say hello. It has been quiet on here lately a lot of the old faces are missing hopefully they are doing ok .
I know gem - where did everyone go?Hopefully the 'summer' has lifted a lot of spirits and people are busy and coping well.;) I hope no-one out there is suffering in silence.
Glad you are happy to be back at work and good look with your course tomorrow. Why do you put on a front if you are not fealing any better?i can understand doing it at work and maybe at home if you do not want to upset your parents but you should be honest with your CPN/psychiatrist or how can he help. You said"I think I envy what they have-friends, fun, a life. I don't have that."
I agree gem. If people don't explain all their problems to their cpn, they can't give you all the support you might need.
I know it takes a lot to bare your very soul to someone, especially a professional, but you have to be able to trust your cpn rbk. You're missing out on help that may make all the difference to you hun. CPNs are bound by confidentiality and rules so you really can open up to them.
I think sometimes people hold back when they've been ill for a long time, or when thinking they can't be helped. But that's common thinking for mental ill health.
When you start seeing the drs etc., we all want the immediate cure.
Nothing is immediate - it took a lot of time to put us where we are and it'll take time to balance everything out, which won't happen if we hold back.
Off on a tangent, sometimes we expect too much of ourselves by trying to go back to that last day we remember before becoming ill, when all was right with the world. We want that because that means we'll be well again in our eyes. But it's not about getting back to where you were then imho - that's no more possible than it is for Tiff to see 21 again!;)
We shouldn't be looking to go back to when we think everything was all right. We need to be finding where we're going to be, accepting what we cannot change. You won't find the ruture in the past.;)
I think someone else said just because people post about what fun lives they have doesn't mean they do.They will have their problems just like the rest of us nobody has a perfect life.
That's right gem. You never know what's going on behind closed doors. We assume everyone's life is better than ours, but maybe the person you see smiling on the bus has just heard that they've got their first counselling session through that they've so badly wanted. Maybe, that smile is the first one the person has had in days.
You just never know. No such thing as perfect - no-one can live up to that standard.;)
...My mood is up and down at the moment i am managing to stop myself from sinking too low but to be honest i am not happy either.I would like a bf,someone to care and i know one is not going to come knocking on my door but think i am so disillusioned with life i can't sum upthe energy to look lol./quote
Anyone would be lucky to have you gem!:A
Loneliness can be a regular companion to many people with mental ill health or who've been through an ordeal. At some point, we'll feel ready to dust ourselves off and look out there for love we're entitled to, just like anyone else.
Having mental ill health issues does not mean that we can't enjoy the same relationships as others imho, and many of the guys here are proof of that. Keep looking hun.;)
Sorry to hear you've been so up and down gem. If you're struggling with your mood angel, check in with your dr to see if they can help. You're a fighter gem and such an asset here - hang in there hun!
Much Love,

learning_to_drive wrote: »Hi all, apologies for not posting much recently, ive just received notification that im starting a new job on Monday, its a good role and something that im really looking forward to.
The nerves have gone pretty much, my therapy has been working really well, if anyone ever has doubts about these things working, I would suggest going with an open mind, everything is worth a try, something may work for you and begin to help you see things in a different light.
Hi ltd!:hello:
I knew you'd be off somewhere beavering away!
How are you hun?
Congratulations on your new job angel! :T
Wishing you much luck for Monday and hoping you'll be happy there.:j
I'm glad your therapy is working out so well for you ltd!:T
We do have to approach treatments with an open mind or else you're starting something half feeling that you've lost already and that it can't work for you.
Thinking of you hun.

good morning everyone,

Spent to long working on flat so i'm going out that door,
you all try to have a good one
Kind regards

Hi andi!:hello:
How are you hun?
You sound better andi. I think it's great that people can volunteer, especially when they have their own burdens.:T As you say, it can be a great distraction to hear other problems than your own.;) You sound full of get up and go in this post.
I'm glad you've got your grant from Warmfront angel.:j Things can take so long to happen that it puts you off applying for help with anything, but you feel on top of the world when it comes through for you. Hope you've got a good weekend planned hun. Take care.
