I thought the SDP were formed a long time before Blair took over

    They were.

    Sorry.
Just looked back at the posts.

I was on about labour during thatcher's early years when I mentioned SDP

That's why the SDP were formed.

And in doing so, they helped split the labour party so much that neither could beat maggie on their own.

    Maggie gets lucky again.

You think it was the SDP that made Foot unelectable? It's what you seem to be saying but you can't be because that would be such a ridiculous position to take.

Labour lost the 1983 election because the British people didn't want to turn the UK into a client state of the USSR.

Labour would have lost anyway but the SDP took the votes away from Labour not Maggie.

The rest of the people from backgrounds like yours love being assigned to the scrapheap at 11.

    Really?

    Why would you think that?

This is easy for me to work out. Previous to thatcher under Heath, the UK had just been to the IMF in 1976 for a loan as we were bankrupt much like Greece today. When Maggie took over the Country was in financial ruins in 1979, when Thatcher left the Country had the 3rd Largest economy in the world in 1990 in accordance with GDP. That speaks for itself, hard decisions were made and it affected many people but the end game was all there, it set us up to be the financial power players we were during the 90s and early 2000s. Without Maggie we would be no marks on the world stage now.
