Seller asking for feedback

Hi
The other week I bought a concert ticket on ebay for waaaaaaay over the odds - Billy Connolly was doing a small event (about 150 ppl) and tickets were sold for £15 each.

Begrudgiungly I paid £90 on ebay for one ticket (not good moneysaving, I know, but hey.... what a good night) but I'm angry that the only way to get a ticket was to pay £75 over the odds for one. I wasn't sure what feedback to leave (+/-) so I didn't..... i just got this email from him today, and now I'm even more angry at paying over the odds....

Dear (ME),

can you leave good feedback cheers

Please respond to the question on eBay by clicking the button below.

Thank you,
(HIM)

there's no way I'm leaving him +ve, but what should I do - negative, neutral or none at all!!??

Well, its not really his fault that you payed over the odds!

Though it is rather cheeky to ask for feedback as blunt as that.

I know it's my fault...... but it makes me angry..... and I'm not elaving him positive feedback..... should i just not leave any at all...?
  • the seller provided a service for you. if the transaction was completed without any problems and p&p charges etc were ok you should leave positive. you knew the tickets were overpriced when you bought them but you decided to commit to buy. IMO it would be wrong to leave negative or even neutral feedback. if you really can't bring yourself to leave +ve then contact the seller and don't leave any, no feedback is better for him than one -ve.

...but consider, it was your choice to buy the ticket - i know its annoying that sometimes the only way to get tickets and such is to pay way over the face value - but if he sent it promptly, decently packaged etc, i think its unfair to leave anything but a positive...although you could call it a protest neg (!) as really he probably shouldn't be 'touting'.

we've all sold stuff well over the odds at some point i'm sure, profit made much more than you thought etc. I bought a hoody from the states last year for $10. It didn't fit, but it amazingly sold for £45 starting from £5! if one of the buyers had discovered where i got it from dirt cheap and complained and given me a neg i would have been mighty teed off

supply and demand here may be the winner.

although, i have just paid £50 for a diana ross ticket...gay man trapped in female body lol!

Sorry chuck but I can't understand why you don't want to leave him positive feedback

You wanted the tickets, knew that you were paying over the odds, you got the tickets, you saw the show....... loved the show (I saw the pictures ;) ) and had a great night.

What harm does it do to leave + feedback?

Was the item as it was described? was it delivered in time?

Sorry, I'm not having a go..... just don't understand

If someone asks me to leave them feedback I won't - call me bloodyminded!

I'm like you in that I don't like to leave positive if I'm not 100% happy, so will not leave any as I feel that negative or neutral are for malpractice or negligence.

Before you recieved his the email asking for feedback i really cannot understand why you didnt want to leave a positive feedback:confused:

At the end of the day, he was offering what you wanted. You chose to bid and you bid enough to win. He posted the ticket in time for you to get to the concert. Seems to me it was a positive transaction. How you can justify not giving a positive is beyond me. No one forced you to pay over the odds, you chose to. Even now hes asked for feedback i cant see where the problem is, after all he filled his end of the transaction

Actually with regards to feedback - sometimes its just nice to know that the goods have actually arrived. I'm still waiting for feedback on stuff I sent ages ago - I'm left wondering if they got the goods or not.

Just as a little side point... It is against ebay's terms of use to ask for feedback...

I'm with everyone else on this one.If you thought you were paying waaaaaaaay over the odds why did you bother? Also I don't think the seller asking for you to leave feedback is a problem at all.As far as he's concerned the transaction went smoothly with no problems so him asking you to leave feedback is justified I feel.He hasn't done anything wrong so why leave a neg or neutral? If you do a neg or neutral he can do the same to you don't forget (and reply to yours)
