    Bank: Lloyds TSB
    Amount Reclaimed:£3676.77 including court charge
    Amount they paid:£3676.77
The story: Wrote 1st letter to bank on 14 Feb.
Bank replied within 2 weeks requesting more info (delaying tactics).
    Replied and waited.
More delaying tactic letters from bank.
Two months later no solution, so used HMCS Money Claim Online to commence proceedings.
    Bank then took notice!
Acknowledged Claim, BUT.......employed a firm of solicitors to put in a defence.
Received letter from solicitors denying charges were unfair and unlawfull, but attached was another letter saying that Lloyds TSB were prepared to settle the claim by paying full amount claimed. I WONDER WHY!!!!:D
    No nasty repercussions yet!
    Money received 31st May::j
    Thanks for your advice Martin.

I have received the letter stating they will settle, how long after you received that did you actually receive your money?

I have received an offer today from RBS for nearly £1600. This was my original claim amount which does not include interest and court charges which I have applied for since issueing my claim.
I have just spoken to someone in customer services to say that i am not happy with the offer and am claiming for interest and costs too. She was adimant that RBS are NOT paying interest and charges only repaying the charges in full (liars!!). I challenged this by saying that I know that people are being refunded interest and costs but she dug her heels in.
What do I do now? RBS acknowledged my claim today- they dont appear to be defending it (checked on MCOL) so can I still start a judgement?
has anyone else been in this situation or had a similar response from the bank? I dont know what to do next for the best. I wan to claim the full amount but im worried that i risk losing out altogether.
    Advice will be greatly appreciated

    thanks, Lisa
They have a further 14 days to enter a defence so dont be too hasty in filing for judgement just yet, they have 14 days from deemed served date to acknowledge then a further 14 days to enter a defence.. You could possibly try phoning them again with the same gesture then if they still dig in about the interest bit say to them...ok I am prepared to waiver the interest if you are prepared to pay the court fee...If they still dig in...wait to see if they offer defence, keep an eye on mcol for the next 14 days .

I have just got my court date in October thats a year to the month since I started!!!!!!!!!!!Its been a long old slog and havnt read of anyone waiting that long to get their court date. I have read somewhere on here that once you have a court date the bank will listen to you more. I am claiming £2700 inc interest. Does anyone know if the court date being set gives you more bargaining power because after a year I want some money!!

I wouldnt say it gives you more bargaining Power, but it usually frightens the bank into paying up, not unless their solicitors can see flaws in your claim and are prepared to go all the way...as with some recent lost cases.

I suppose this is a flaw in my case. I went 3 dates over the 6 years and the bank has obviously picked up on that. Everything else is correct.

You aren't entitled to intrest to be honest, only if you do win in court, so RBS don't have to pay that too you. As I see it, i'd advise ringing them and asking for your court fee to be added to their offer and see what they say or take the risk in the court room to get the lot. How much was your interest?
Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you

    Bank Alliance and Leicester
    Claimed 2400
    Amount received 2310

Sent all relevant letters from your website right to the court letter, paid the court fee, went on holiday and returned to a cheque. Bank stated that as I didn't agree to their terms and conditions they would look into the running of my account. They said cheque of £90 to follow which I haven't had yet but I have chased it up. They haven't shut my account down yet! Amount was including all the interest for 6 years and the court fee. Thank you sooo much. Took about 3 months total.

Hi could you pls tell me if your case when to county court,
as i went on the online one but now they have sent it to a county court.
Really getting a bit worried now.
    Thank you.

Most success stories about the Halifax seem to have taken a shorter time than my present claim. Started claim on 21st feb, sent letter no2 three weeks ago, so far only a printout of charges
