Hi,
today i received this letter. I have ignored similar silly ones but this is the first one from an actual Debt recovery firm?

Please can I ask is it safe to ignore this?

Nothing at all new here. Debt Recovery Plus letters are all part of the scam - Just keep-on doing what you were doing. :)

I had two of those, then two 'see you in court' letters then it all went nice and quiet :)

    Ignore it.

I have had three of these and then two more from Zenith, (same company different name), they have entered the desperate empty threat stage. Just hold your nerve and file them away under DR (Desperate Rubbish).

I had one of these so all I did was sent them an email, telling them that I would see them in court, with a scan of there letter to me, I told them that i was thoroughly bored, and I could do with a day out, this was over 4 months ago and I have heard nothing since. They are only trying to scare you into paying.
  • Hi there,
Really helpful reading these posts. I've had the same problem with Parking Eye. Had two letters from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd and now this morning had a letter from Parking Eye headed LETTER BEFORE ACTION stating that I had 7 days to pay £100 or further action willbe taken and court proceedingswill be issued.
Don't mind saying this is somewhat worrying. I've never been in trouble or to court before. Is it still safe to ignore it.... is this all part of the process they use?
    Thanks

Same advice as was just given above, it hasn't changed in the last few minutes!

Same advice as you'd find if you just looked at some threads on page one of the parking forum (one click away, see my signature, just read any threads).

Same advice as you'd find if you both searched the parking forum with 'Debt Recovery Plus' or 'Eye Letter Before Action' as keywords.

Same advice as is given umpteen times a day on other forums too, here's a couple (of half a dozen at least) I replied to yesterday on pepipoo as SchoolRunMum:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=78057

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=78032

And here's one from earlier from here on this forum (one of thousands on MSE about these DRP letters):

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4543217

and here are the letters to expect from Debt Recovery Plus aka Zenith:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2329119

Linked in a thread called 'PPC letter chains' which no-one seems to look at even though it's at the top of the parking forum and there for newbies to see all the silly letters in their glory. And yes, the Letter Before Action from PE has been posted about on both forums as well - means nowt unless a small claim actually is attempted, as you will see from other people's experiences.

Sorry to be terse but I am soooo bored with Parking Eye and Debt Recovery Plus threads this week, they are all over both forums and yet all the same and soooo easy to search for. Yes Parking Eye have recently issued some 'Letters Before Action' and sometimes try a small claim (can be robustly defended) - and there are threads about that too.

Hope the links help you, read them all and enjoy...and Nellyjim after reading about other people's LBAs from PE (a Google search of 'Eye Letter Before Action pepipoo' would find threads with 'your' letter) if you want further help please just start your own thread like bob dob did - either here or on pepipoo or both - we will help you even if bored by Groundhog Day! :)

  • Thanks, sorry I'm new to all this and realise once I'd posted a reply that I should have started a new thread. Was in the process of doing that when your reply came through. Some help on how to do all this I'm sure is on the site and I'll check it out. :)

Go to the main parking forum, it's ONE click away (see my signature below, under all my posts). There's a big blue 'new thread' button there at the top...!

But please, oh please, read the linked threads I gave you first. And search for the pepipoo threads where people have had that Letter Before Action - I even told you the keywords to use on Google so you are seconds away from reading relevant cases - this thread isn't actually even relevant as you aren't on the standard DRP letters now.
