I'll often tell people I've won certain bits, and those people will more often than not say 'you jammy sod' or 'you're so lucky'... my answer is always 'did you enter that competition?' their answer is always 'no' and the conversation always ends with 'well how can you expect to win anything then?!'0

I can honestly say I've never had any negative comments about my comping. Quite the opposite really. And friends often ask where I get competitions from and could I help them to start comping too.
Then again I'm not one for caring much about what others think. So people probably do think/say negative things about me doing comping but I just don't notice.0 -
I'm just starting and hunting around there's so many. Kinda fun!0

I don't think it is a normal thing to do, it also requires quite a bit of time (yes you can multitask) so I think a lot of people can't be arsed and laugh about it.
I'm sure they'd be jealous if you won something cool though. My friends laugh at me for doing it. I stopped entering Facebook and Twitter competitions because a few friends removed me haha.
If it was easy and everyone did it the wins would be even more limited.
Quite a few people seem to have cottoned on to it. I'm relatively new. I started in January, so I'm going to give it a year and see how I get on.2013: New to comping! Jan: Conor Maynard tix, Texas Chainsaw Merch. Feb: Resident Evil Retribution Blu Ray.
Mar:
Apr: Cineworld tix May:
June: Hard Rock Calling tix July: Capital One cup tix
Aug: Despicable me goodies, Tesco points, Capital One cup tix
Sep: Iron Man 3 Tee Oct: Russell Brand tix, Alice in Chains tix

I've had a few people bring up my hobby recently only to imply that they think it's a stupid waste of time (even though they know I've won nice things!), and I've said to them all "I don't watch any TV you see, so...." It's fun to watch their expressions change as the brains start whirring and they tot up all the hours they spend in front of the box of a week and realise that I'm probably sat on the sofa less than them! Then they write me off as a complete weirdo for not watching telly and conversation moves on

EDIT: although, to be fair, nothing will get me away from Eurovision on Saturday night, but I will comp during the rubbish entries!!
