    OK I have voted now.

I wouldn't wait until this poll closes to make your decision though. This ISA might not be around that long.

are they not around the whole of the tax year?

I've just opened the Coventry Poppy ISA, very straightforward, done instantly as I already have a savings account with them, transferred the money over as soon as account showed up online.

Where I live there is nothing but the Post Office and three part-time banks, so all my banking and savings accounts are online ones. I print off the relevant documents that are available when you open the account so you have a hard copy of all the information. I've had no problems and have opened and closed accounts with a variety of financial institutions.

ISAs will always be around but particular ones can be pulled at any time, particularly if it's a good rate of interest they can become very popular very quickly then that issue can get closed and a new one with a lower rate of interest may replace it.

Hopefully the money you put in an ISA is intended to stay in it for as long as possible to keep those savings tax free. It's not an account designed for dipping in and out of for every day living. Put in what you can comfortably afford to hopefully not touch for as long as possible and avoid paying the tax you have to on normal savings accounts.

I'll be more inclined to open up an ISA which was online only than one which wasn't. 24/7 access and no queues!
