If you provide a switching service, then you should provide a contact instead of just referring to faqs which rarely help with anything specific0 -
I recently signed up with cheap energy club, input my details and learned I could save £69/month with nPower (Energy online August 2014) so I switched.
Just received letter from npower and it appears I will be paying £75/ month MORE than I was with my previous supplier (Dual Fuel, First Utility, iSave tariff) Have double checked all info I provided to cheap energy club and it's all correct. I didn't inspect tariff details as I trusted the MSE calculations but something is seriously wrong! Have complained to npower and they have promised investigation (up to 8 weeks but aiming for 2) MSE - Do you have correct tariff details for First Utility iSave?
My bill shows:
Electricity unit rate per KWh 15.278p
Gas unit rate per KWh 3.73p
Electricity standing charge - Supply 26.250p per day
Gas standing charge - Supply 57.750p per day
MSE please help!0 -
You appear to be on a very competitive fixed tariff.
You could save £47 per year using Spark Energy - Spark Advance tariff, but after the £50+ early exit fees of your existing deal are taken into consideration, then such a switch would cost you more.
All other generally available tariffs currently offered by any supplier will cost you more than you are currently paying.
The EDF Blue +Price Promise February 2015 tariff would cost you about £200 a year more.
I would suggest you continue to take advantage of your existing deal for the next couple of months and then look again
Thanks for looking at my particular case but what is really needed is someone at MSE to fix the overall problem.
For example today, my account says I could now save only £22 instead of £47 yesterday. I'm interested in this level of saving but there is still no link to click on to explore further.
Features that Martin and MSE put their name to are normally top class but this is letting them down badly.
Come on MSE Digitus Extractum!!

All that happens is that is asks me to login again, runs another comparison and tells me I could save £22 bring me back to the same page.
I've just run a test using another browser and it now seems to work.
Apologies for my Rant - it seems to be an own goal down to SeaMonkey.

Hi, I logged in this morning (the site asked for my login details twice for some reason!) and located the EDF energy tariff. I completed the details to switch both gas and electricity and my bank details etc. I confirmed that I wanted to switch. I have not received any confirmation email. Are you able to check whether my request has been received? Thanks.
I gave up  and went through uswitch instead :T0 -

There are a number of First Utility iSave dual fuel tariffs
e.g. iSave Dual Fuel V15 would cost you:
Electricity:
30.22 p per day
13.052 p per kWh
Gas:
30.92 p per day
3.045 p per kWh
Which exact tariff did you have?
If you'd like me to take a closer look for you, please post the following details :
1. Anticipated annual consumption in kWh0 -

Hi paulhiphop
Is the £75/month more the direct debit that npower has set up for you? Because suppliers don't have a history of usage for you they often set a direct debit higher than it needs to be - which means if you used exactly the same amount of energy as you did last year you'd have surplus at the end of the year.
That sounds like the most likely explanation. You have a right to have your direct debit set at a fair level - have a look at the energy direct debits guide for help on how http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/lower-energy-direct-debits0 -
I got an email this afternoon telling me "You asked us to tell you when you’re paying too much on your energy bills. So here goes: “YOU’RE NOW PAYING TOO MUCH!” Apparently a check had been done yesterday (11/4/13) and there were now cheaper tariffs. I logged in and double checked.
Lucky I did! Every single tariff in the comparision was MORE EXPENSIVE than the EDF Blue I'm on at the moment.
A glitch in the system? I hope so!0
