O/S Daily Wednesday 10 April 2013

O/S Daily Wednesday 10 April 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

  • Halight where are you? It's a good job you have trained me in starting the thread :D

    Good morning everyone :)

Another cold day, no rain as yet but it looks like it's on the way, will probably wait until the weekend.

Managed to get a few bits on ebay last night, I find some things definitely sell better with a 99p start so I may give try a couple of listings a day.

We had the minced pork Thai style with noodles mixed in. Very nice, will definitely do that again. Salmon tonight as DH is training and he needs food early and light.

Plans for this evening is to tidy up all my packing boxes and materials into one corner of this room, instead of being strewn all over the floor as they are now :o

Need to also do some work on our financial spreadsheets so I am ready for the last weeks of this month and the start of the next.

As usual, I need to dash and get to work so will leave with well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

  • Good morning ttftm and to all who cross/follow,
Quite a dull looking morning at the moment. I think we are due rain today, although they said that yesterday and it was lovely. Managed to get all of the washing dry.
Moorhen, sending you positive vibes for your screening today x
Dd has got to have more steroid injections in her eyebrows today. They were coming along really nicely since the last injections but they have started to fall out again. Not all of them though so maybe it is a good sign.
Got to follow hubby to the garage so he can drop his car off today. Can't for the life of me remember what is being done, all i know is more money.
Need to have a good hoover through as i haven't felt like doing too much for the last few days. Just have been doing the bare minimum. Have had a virus/flu type thing. Completely knocked me off my feet.
Not sure what i am doing for tea tonight. Will have to have a rummage in the freezer.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good Morning chums and a damp grey morning it is again.I am feeling quite cheery though as I am going out up to London today with my eldest DD for a nice lunch out followed by a matinee to see 'Wicked' so the rain won't bother us.She is definitely a chip of her Mum as we have £50.00 worth of tesco vouchers for lunch in Bella Italia which only cost her a quarter of that :):):) so we will enjoy lunch on MR T :):):)
moorhen I am sending positive thoughts your way and hope all goes well, and to anyone else who is also worrying about tests or Drs appointments as well.
I shall have an early breakfast as lunch will be quite filling so I may have a boiled egg and soldiers :):) my favourite.
Hope everyone is having a good day, children are back to school next week so not long to go if your feeling frayed at the edges
    take care all

    Morning everyone

Cloudy, dull and dreich, but no rain as yet but it is forecast at some point today. Rain was forecast for yesterday afternoon and although it was cloudy and dull in the morning the sun came out and it was very pleasant and the rain never arrived so got another line of washing dried outside.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was easy fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg, and yogurts etc for dessert. Tonight we will be having shepherds pie, which I will make this afternoon when I get in from work and then just bung in the oven, we'll have LO's, yorkshires etc and will do some more fresh veg to go with it.

Only working until lunchtime, so will come home and get cracking with the normal list of jobs, haven't being doing as much housework type jobs as normal as just can't seem to get going with it when kids are at home. They go back to school on Monday so normal service will resume!

Work was much calmer yesterday and saw a gentleman who said "thanks for being so helpful and courteous and treating me like a human" - he lost his job 9 weeks ago and has been busy applying for jobs and having to attend to the various services to apply for benefits etc, and he was saying how awfully he had been treated at other services, and how rude and unco-operative the staff were, he was a normal guy who has always worked - obviously there's 2 sides to every story but he's not the first person in recent days who has said about this (about the same service provider). I appreciate everyone is hard pushed with staffing cut to the bare minimum - we're exactly the same, but we're paid to do a job and we all should be doing it in a professional manner and giving the correct and appropriate information. I'll get off my soap box now ..............

This afternoon we will be getting more stuff packed into my car so I can go to the recycling centre first thing in the morning - and that will be another load out of the way.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,
Been wake since 4.20 thanks to DH snoring, I lay there waiting for DGD2 to wake and climb into our bed, she snuggles up and puts her arms around my neck. There is no better way to start the day.
She's having boiled egg and soldiers then I'm going to let her weigh out the ingredients and put them in the BM so she can have a ham sandwich for lunch with the bread she made.
Got to pop out for f&v today, DD2 is bringing DGD3 here at 9.20 so she can go to her drumming lesson. When the girls have gone home I have to take my car to SiL2b so he can take it for the MoT tomorrow, not holding my breath for a good result.
MOORHEN, Thinking of you today and sending possative vibes and well wishes, let us know how you get on.
    Have a good day all.
