Well, I finally heard from them this morning -- 2 letters in the same mail -- and the b@stards have turned me down! Maybe they got wind of the 8 or 9 current accounts that I already have... (Or they were peeved that I just trsfrd my cash ISA away from the Halifax!). Anyway, at least I did not get turned down for the Coventry 1st a/c a coupla months ago - that is giving me good interest as a savings a/c, with the added convenience of being able to pay off my stoozing credit cards, as they become due, without having to trsfr funds from a savings a/c to my regular current a/c beforehand.
Expect the worst & hope for the best...
