Just posted separately but will add briefly to this thread -if we stay with Lloyds because we have to open a new account, ( apart from all the hassle) we will lose our FREE gold account benefits ( currently 12.95 per 'notch) - these we have because we had a gold account before charges were introduced.:(

So let the account go to TSB and keep the benefits then.

Would- except that means a separate login and loss of he ability to see all my "current acc" finances in one place and shuffle money between ( have several other Lloyds accs based at my local branch)
    - so either way it's a pain, and to be honest I resent being caused hassle because Lloyds can't get it's admin together ::mad:

I'm sure they really wanted to sell off 600 branches and associated accounts.

Still would've thought it should be possible to flag a new account " no charge" as per the original. Been into the branch tho - and it is not possible, but they have agreed to let me add vantage to the new account even tho we already exceed the permitted no of vantage accounts.

Address all complaints to the regulators. It's all their fault.

I've found customer services helpful in dealing with my questions about the split.

Although I wish people would stop saying 'I've banked with Lloyds for X years', it's irrelevant, Lloyds do not want to lose your accounts and branches and this split is not aimed at you as an individual.

It's not irrelevant, it's one of the reasons why this shouldn't be happening at all.

Can anyone who has switched actually confirm they was credit scored.

I opened my new account with them yesterday and they did say I would be credit checked and that it would show on any credit search for 30 days.

The competition authorities only mandated that LBG increase competition.

It was wholly Lloyds' decision to recreate TSB. Lloyds could have met the requirements by hiving off Halifax and Bank of Scotland but chose not to.
