LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT

Sorry to hear of your troubles. If after doing all you can to make your relationship work, you are left feeling only negatively toward your partner, then it is perhaps time to contact Relate or take some time apart to re-evaluate things.
I got to this stage in my marriage a few years ago. Despite trying everything it eventually became obvious that we had to part.
I looked at how I had felt about my ex when I decided to marry him. He was the guy I had planned to spend the rest of my life with for the following reasons. He was my best friend and soul mate. He could make me laugh like no-one else. I thought he had real integrity and that we shared the same values and morals. He was ambitious, creative and had drive. I loved, valued, trusted and respected him. I felt that we could get through anything together. We had each others backs, wanted the best for each other, believed in each other and worked as a team for our joint and individual ambitions.
Now I accept that all relationships change and evolve over time. Not every one of those elements is present all the time. Couples go through ups and downs that test the relationships resillience. The four things that I feel every relationship needs is honesty, openness, respect and trust. Once those things are gone it is very hard to keep going.
I hope whatever decision you make about your future it will ultimately make you happy. Life is too short to stay with the wrong one.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
There are loads of things I love about the OH but the top two would have to be how affectionate he is, he's never too busy for a cuddle and sends me loads of lovely texts while at work and the other is how he makes me laugh and how we laugh together.
Sorry to hear about your situation and I hope you rectify it one way or another soon.0 -
the best thing about my OH is he left!!!Be kinder than necessary because we do not know the battles that someone else may face

We still feel the same about each other after a brief dalliance then over a decade apart.
He's beautiful to look at.
He loves me for who I am.
We've been together nearly 2 years and still fall asleep and wake up cuddling.

I love that he's my best friend and that I could tell him anything.
I love that still tells me I'm beautiful after 5 years together and the appearance of some wrinkles at my end.
I love that he remembers that the little things matter more than the big overblown gestures. I might not end up with a huge overblown bouquet on valentines etc but he always remembers that banana milkshake makes me feel better when I'm poorly!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -

I'd just love to have a OH.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
