  • Pyracantha is nasty stuff too, grows fast once it's taken hold.

My OH quite rightly had enough and requested that if she can't keep it out of our garden, could she play it somewhere else, possibly the big park, to which he got a torrent of abuse and her saying that shell just climb over and get it herself.

Play nicely and be a good neighbour now......

Make sure she has a nice soft landing when she jumps into your garden and put a huge pile of manure at the base of the fence. When she has got the message you can use it on your roses. Very MSE in the long run, win win.

Serioulsy though OP she sounds horrible and rather unstable. It may be worth making a complaint to the police about this. Neighbours cannot come to your house, interrupt you, become abusive and threaten to enter your property or the grounds of it without your permission.

Good luck sorting it out, she sounds like a right chav.

technically if a ball comes over you leave it where it is!

If she comes in your garden yes call the police she is trespassing.

But you can't leave them there forever. I'm thinking of my case here, balls will keep on & one coming. Could easily have a dozen or more.

So what do you do in that case?

    Throw them back monthly?

After all you don't want loads of balls in your garden.

I'd move the bin (or bins) to inside your garden so she cant use them to climb on (bit of a pain, I know).

We've had neighbours in the past with kids where balls have come over (and vice-versa) and generally as a rule they get thrown back when we have a moment, not at their request and certainly not more than once a day, but that always involved nice neighbours who were understanding. We did have issues with kids climbing in from the alleyway at the back to retrieve balls (it's a good 10min walk round, no excuse though) and prickly plants soon put paid to that problem.

Seems OH got two big pyracantha instead of berberis and they look bloody evil. We've decided to use the paint as a last stand if the pointy trellis and thorns can't get through her dragon scales.

As per talking nicely, we have tried but she refuses to hold eye contact and walks away when you attempt to talk to her. All smoke and no flame when it comes to it. Has been terribly quiet tonight so think showing her we have teeth has maybe done something. I'm hoping the plants take root quickly as I will crack a little smile if I find out someone had been in it >:)

Shame it might keep the sexy policemen out :(

Edit: in my research of defensive plants, I found one called cockburnianus. Sounds effective!
