Afternoon all, been busy today already......food shop, physio appointment (that was very helpful), delivered a load of stuff to an auction house, finished my CV (just waiting for return of referee request) and got the washing machine on! Phew!
This afternoon I have some paperwork to do, need to change the bed which didn't get done last week and some design work to do.
Might go to textile group meeting tonight, my snuggle up with the TV on. Will see how I feel nearer the time.
It's very windy here today, a bitterly cold blast, but fairly bright. Can't face the cold to do anything in the garden although there's lots needs doing.
Hugs and/or best wishes to those facing any sort of difficult times.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
I am usually a lurker than a poster but to answer Camelot, Bitsy is posting on the Frugal Frump to Fab forum on Health and Beauty. It is a friendly and supportive forum like this one.
Had a very OS day yesterday, made a fish pie and fishcakes for the freezer, and a lemon drizzle cake after reading about JackieO's one last week. Will not make another as it is seriously lovely and we have eaten most of it already0 -
Hi all
Many thanks for the good wishes; right back atcha:o and loads of posi-vibes, healing vibes and coping vibes everywhere they're needed (seems like it'd be a very long list if I named everyone with troubles, sadly).
I do indeed use the food processor for as many tasks as possible, including prepping the nuts and the breadcrumbs for the nut loaf; that particular mixing job, putting the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients in the saucepan, is one of the things it won't cope with unfortunately. It's a very minor problem in the grand scheme of things, I just get upset when I find out that yet another thing I used to manage with only a little difficulty is now beyond me. I've hand-washed one of my favourite tops this morning, but it's having to drip-dry, as I can't wring it at all, and Mr LW's at work.:o More worryingly, Mr LW now has to brush my hair in the mornings, as that early in the day I can't get my hands up high enough to do it myself.:( Good thing I don't have a fancy hairstyle, or use any styling products.;)Lamewolf, would a food processor type thing be any good for you ? some of then do almost everything now, and it would save your poor hands.
I have a docket from the GP to visit the drop-in hand therapy clinic (as in a clinic where they treat poorly hands - get your minds out of the gutter:D) but it's going to have to wait til Beltane, when Mr LW has the day off on leave; he won't be available to take me before then, as they only do afternoon sessions two days a week, and the only Early shift he has to correspond I already have an appointment, at the opticians, which has already had to be cancelled and rescheduled once.
I suspect that lumping Mary in and out once an hour isn't helping much, but needs must - she can't manage safely without assistance. And she's only here til 19th April, so it's not for long.;)
Rage in Eden I'm glad little Bobby recovered; special well-budgie vibes on their way to him.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all
Glad you've had some good news Halight.
Rage, many years ago my godfather cycled half way to work before he realised that his budgie was perched on his shoulder. He turned round & cycled home with his heart in his mouth. He managed to get home with the budgie still on his shoulder.
I was at the hospital in plenty of time, didn't get out til 12ish, I'm still going blind, lol, no change there then. Surgery is the next step in a year or 2 to release the tent.
Hubby was waiting in the corridor for me & treated me to lunch, ham, egg & chips, two slices of ham, 2 eggs, loads of chips, £3.70 each, less £1 as it's Monday, it was delicious. We went shopping, I spent 28p on a washing up brush, hubby spent £2.49 on some polythene sheeting for the garden.
Best of all I bumped into an old friend & we swapped phone numbers & will try to meet up soon.
Have a good afternoon everyone.
Hugs Hester

Aunt in laws Gp thinks shes had a stroke, has appointment for CT brain scan on Thursday, she is making light of it today, and her hubby can't get talking as she is hovering in the background! MIL is on the way there with his cousin, and will let me know whats going on, so will be on standby for the return journey, and on feeding FIL duty. Never a dull moment!RIP Iain
