Opened Leeds Building Society ISA - Problems.

After reading on here how simple it was to open an account, I went to do this tonight. However, it has asked me to send off certain documents to prove my identity (it says every new customer has to do this).
I have read the things that they request to send off and this is just far to much hassle and sounds very complicated and I cannot easily send of any of the primary identification ID's they they are requesting.
I have decided that this is not the account for me but have I messed up my chance to open any other ISA account this year?. I have, of course, not put any money in the account yet.
Thank you.

And now, because I was worrying about that, I had not clicked continue to print off the application form, and now when I click it, it tells me it has timed out and takes me too the homepage!
. Anyone know how I can get this application form? I have done a quick search and nothing appears.

If you have not funded the ISA this tax year, then you can open a different ISA perfectly legally.0

Hi, I think if you read their terms and conditions for the account, you have 14 days to write to them to cancel the account and then it does not count as having been opened either and as Yorkie1 said, you have not funded it.Save £12K in 2015 #48: £0/£12,000

Agree with Yorkie1.
However, if you have difficulties opening a savings account with LBS, you probably have difficulties getting a savings account anywhere else. If a bank/BS can confirm your details in a consistent manner with places like credit reference agencies, your application will generally sail through. If they can't, it won't. Nothing unique to LBS.
Have you recently checked your CRA files? Are you on there with the data entered on the application form? Have you recently moved? Are you on the Electoral Register at your current address? Did you make any mistakes in your application form?0 -

no need to cancel anything, not least because the OP doesn't actually have any account at LBS yet because the application failed0 -
I also need to provide ID as well, for the Leeds Building Society ISA, not best pleased about it as I am already a customer with them.0

Could there be a discrepancy between the data they hold about you, and the data you provided on the application form? Have you moved recently? Are you on the electoral roll? Have you mistyped anything on the application form?0

This happened to me-I phoned them to ask for help and they said the only thing I could do was start the application from scratch again to generate a new form. Bit of a faff but at least I was able to print it off the second time around.0 -

This has happened to me, an existing customer of more than 20 years, on two occasions when opening new accounts with the Leeds. I rang them and they told me to send a covering note instead.0 -

No, I haven't moved since the late '90s, and I'm certainly on the electoral roll.0
