20p/min to the USA is ok, but it may well be cheaper to use a cheap calls provider instead. I've got a PAYG on 02 and have been using DialAbroad (https://www.dialabroad.co.uk/mobile) for a while now. Calls to the USA at 1p/min plus a 10p connection charge plus the cost of calling an 0207 number. On 02 PAYG my off-peak calls to 0207 were 2p/min so my total call cost was 3p/min plus the connection charge. Pretty good from a mobile...

    Hope that helps.

    Car.

Yea thanks, that sounds another good option :)

I was actually thinking of getting my landline connected again and using 1899.com at 0.5p per minute. I'm racking my brains!...can't still decide.
  • Hi, I'm often calling Italy from my O2 mobile, and i use Just Dial which you can use to USA too. You dial a natioanal rate call - Dial 0870 794 0000 + your international number. This only works during the week. There is another number which you have to call at weekends which cost 5p per minute. check their website.

On my O2 contract, 0870 numbers are included in the inclusive minutes i get, but don't think they are on orange, you'll have to check.

Edit: I've just looked on the Orange Tariffs, and it looks like on PAYG you'll be charged 20p/min for 0870.
I did't realise how expensive PAYG calls are!

    I dont understand yr logic!!

    1. from 02 mobiles & t-mobiles too - u can still use simpl-fones 07744 974 363 number & call Italy for free!

    2. they also have an 0870 number u can use for free too [if it included in yr plan as free calls] 08700 419 567

3.Why pay all those connection charges just use a call thru product to Europe like s-f's 08449884363 @ 3p or a really cheap but crap lines service like 18866 which is 2p (but u gotta join the service and give c/c cards etc..)

    Thanks to everyone!

Well I made a 17 minute call to Flordia from y orange PAYG and it cost me about £3 - £4. To me its not silly stupid prices but once I get my lineline in 2 weeks it will be much much cheaper still.
