Are you saying that an app can reduce the data usage when you tether?
And what does this have to do with other countries?0 -
Android standard tether is the best just set to hotspot and go0

Many networks do not permit tethering on a most of their contracts, You need to find one that allows tethering.
It's possible to use Tethering on a contract that does not permit it, and chances are you will not be detected unless you really go over the top in it's use, but you need to realise if they do catch you then you may be charged at the out of bundle rate, on a UK network that can be up to £8 a mb, so it pays to check with the network you will use to see if they have a tethering clause in their contract.0 -

In a wifi cafe you connect to the cafe's wifi.
In any place where you have your mobile network signal you can turn your Android phone in a personal wifi hotspot for your laptop or use it for tethering via USB cable.
In my version of Android it is
Settings >> Wireless & networks >> Tethering & portable hotspot
No apps required. Mobile data roaming is very expensive, let alone tethering. Also, as said above, only some tariffs allow tethering.0 -
Bear in mind Three block tethering when you're not on the one plan so the standard hotspot app won't work here.
The only one that works is the clockword mod tether app. But even that can get flagged up on Three's system if you use too much data/windows update or apps.0 -

Im on Three pay as you go, all in one 15 plan, with unlimited data. I tether from my Samsung S3 to Ipad with no problem at all. Never once been blocked.0
