what tethering apps do you recommend for android?

Im on Three pay as you go, all in one 15 plan, with unlimited data. I tether from my Samsung S3 to Ipad with no problem at all. Never once been blocked.
I've noticed older sim cards can get away with it. I know someone else on pay as you go who tethers like crazy. And then someone else who signed up for a contract very recently and got blocked.
I can still tether on my PAYG sim fine though.
So it's weird. Better to be safe though as officially (according to T&C) tethering is not allowed so Three do have the right to block you at any time.0 -
Bear in mind Three block tethering when you're not on the one plan so the standard hotspot app won't work here.
The only one that works is the clockword mod tether app. But even that can get flagged up on Three's system if you use too much data/windows update or apps.
Yup, as other have said. I'm on a standard plan, 24 month, text 500, with a £3 'all you can eat' data add on an tether and consume about 70gb a month, and three don't bat an eyelid.0 -

Anything you can find or buy on the internet you can be the networks have done the same and will work out how to detect.
Can they detect tethering and will they take any action are two very different questions.
The network may not block you just choose to charge you instead.0 -
I suspect the OP is asking whether a tethering app allows users to avoid network tehering charges. It won't. Nor will it allow the OP to avoid overseas data roaming charges. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

There are no charges for tethering. Only if you go over your limited allowance.
And Three easily pick up tethering on their new tariffs and block it. So they are active about it. But like i said above, i know old users that tether loads, but all new users seem to get blocked.0 -

Sorry no. There are a lot of ways to detect Tethering and Three probably have a department who has a remit to look at Apps that allow you to tether and work out how to detect them.
Unless you have tethering on your contract you will not have the right to do so, most contracts say that the data is to be used in the device only.
If you have got away with it great, but don't be under the illusion it's because you have an old contract, or something special, it's almost certainly because you have not yet hit a limit that triggers an automated alert.0
