Ignorant, inconsiderate and arrogant!

There are often occasions when I would like to speak my mind to people being selfish/inconsiderate. A particular bugbear of mine is people putting their feet up on buses/trains! The reason I don't is that I am a small, middle aged woman and I fear getting a punch in the face!
Sometimes I do lose my rag and I can't stop myself though. My OH goes mad if he is with me as he says he will be the one getting punched.
I shouted at a man who was letting his dog foul the pavement and didn't bother picking it up. I was on my bike though so I just rode away before he could do anything.0 -

Equality, can't have it both ways.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

I think that is where you went wrong. Stand up to them, but don't drag yourself down to their level. I'd have had a word straight away though. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile...What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Yes, next time try the boot of your car, how far is it to the coast?

I can sympathise with the OP here, although not with the threats of violence. We seem to have lost the idea of public space, where we modify our behaviour so as to get along more easily with our fellow human beings. People nowadays seem to think everywhere is an extension of their living rooms, where they can do precisely what they want with no regard for anyone else. I am a big believer in personal freedom, but I also think we should have the maturity to modify our behaviour to make the world a better place for everyone. Parking badly and then getting aggressive with anyone who challenges you is the behaviour of an emotional infant. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

I am all for saying something and sometimes do.
Problem is these days there is a 1 in 20 chance that 'person' you speak to will stick something sharp in your chest. They are always cowards and do it when your not expecting it so little chance of self defence unless you're a pupil of Bruce Lee. They won't stop to think of the consequences because lets face it in our legal system, there are not many. Most have never grown out of the toddler rage stage anyway because they have never experienced any discipline in life. The only law they understand is he who hits first usually wins.0 -

I have never hit a woman in my life and don't intend to start now, but it is strange what you say when you are really wound up:o0 -

Sure you can, it's not on to threaten to put a man in hospital either, especially over a parking dispute.
Yes it's a crappy thing to do and they have actually committed an offence by obstructing access to the public highway, but that isn't justification for someone else to commit a much more serious criminal act in response.
A photo dropped off to the local plod might have gotten a more useful outcome, failing that put it on the internet.0 -
