I use a valance - why does anyone need to see that I have storage under the bed? hehe

I would buy a double sheet and drape it over the bed so it looks like a valance sheet, nobody would look at it anyway! They may question whether there are some drawers hidden undernath, but that would add to the whole mystique of the spare bedroom!
  • My hubby requested we buy some for our divans, bless him!

So, another vote for a valance!

I made a valance for ours. It's velcro'd to the base (under the mattress) and has a lift up section where the drawers are. :)

    And it's flat, not frilly.

I'd go for a box pleated valance so it wasn't ruffly http://www.laredoute.co.uk/cotton-canvas-box-pleated-valance.htm?ProductId=324155924

No way would I leave the base uncovered whether or not it had storage.

why would you want to show your 'drawers' off? a valance is a great idea - and I would put the valuables in the drawers once hidden. under spare blankets or clothes of course!
PS - I used the underbed drawers in the spare room to hide the grandkids Christmas presents.

That's the type we use on both of our beds. Then a normal fitted sheet on the mattress. Showing the drawers would look ugly - especially if the bed has a pattern on it.
