Fit a valance sheet to a valance bed?

We've bought a cheap bed with drawers underneath and my OH thinks I'm 'bonkers' for buying a valance sheet and putting it on.

He said you show the bottom part and just use a normal sheet.

The bed is a cheap one and the drawers are sliding and looks 'cheap'. I honestly thought this was 'normal'.

We're laughing now (rum helps) and wondered what the majority of you do?

Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

  • I can't stand valance sheets so I'd tuck it in anyway. Not that I'd own one in the first place.

Although looking at the pic - it would indeed look weird.

I'd put a valance sheet on, to not do so would look studenty in my opinion.

We have a valance sheet on the divan bed in our spare room, with a 'normal' fitted sheet on the mattress. I'm not the biggest fan of the valance, but I think the beds do look a bit odd without them.

I'd have a valance sheet on that to cover the drawers up.

I have a divan bed-base like that and I do have a valance on it. To me, the valance looks better than the naff patterned base, so it's hidden until I can afford a proper bed.
