Hi everyone
Really really hoping someone can help
I have an lg tv and a DVD player with the old fashioned 3 White/yellow/red cables
I moved recently and when I set up the tv the right unbuilt speaker is now crackling whenever the volume is up- it coincides completely with noise coming from whatever is playing on the DVD player
Im not yet able to connect to an aerial but assume with tv noise there'll be no way around this
But for the DVD I can't get around it because the left speaker cable input in the tv is also the 'mono' one (??)
There are another set of cable inputs in the back of the tv where I can insert only the left one and leave the right out- unfortunately there are 3 video inputs for this bit though - I only have one- if I put this inntwo of the three nothing shows on screen- the top one shows only a black and White picture...
Please please help really don't want to have to buy a new tv

Should I buy new speakers? If I do is there a way to even bypass internal speakers when i finally get an aerial?
Would really really appreciate any and all help

(I'm v v v un-techno!).
Thank you!!!

The other set of inputs, are they green, blue, red and yellow. What is model number of the Tv
A small surround sound system may help or sound bar.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
The sound distortion is probably mechanical ie the speaker has become loose or something has got into it and is rubbing.
Your TV probably has a headphone output and probably has separate volume controls for that and the speaker sound, so you could probably plug amplified PC speakers into the headphone socket and silence the internal speakers.
If the distortion is caused by an electronic component failure inside the TV then the headphone output will probably also be affected.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Other set of inputs has video section with blue green and red, and right audio red and left audio right
My DVD has red and White plus yellow...0 -
It's a lg32lh20000

I tried the headphone socket and no output at all!
Thanks so much for replies
What is a soundbar?0 -
So no sound from headphones when plugged into socket. Should turn the internal speaker off and turn headphones on. Unless there is a setting within the menu
Soundbar is like a surround sound system, but all speakers built into a single long unit.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Ok great thanks - will look on amazon
are they v expensive? Will any brand do?
How do I turn off the internal speakers?
I suppose it's not possible to just turn off one?
Thanks again0 -
Try swapping the left/white cable with the red/right cable to see if the crackle changes side. If the dvd player has a coax(tv aerial) output, connect this to the tv coax and tune the tv to the dvd player. The sound distortion is probably mechanical ie the speaker has become loose or something has got into it and is rubbing.0

Before I shoot out and buy this thing today - just a quick question - how do I turn off the internal speakers / is it def possible with this model ? / and it's def not possible just to turn off one
( I will try swapping the cable now - but what I think. You're getting at is that the problem is in the cable not the speaker - in which Case I've already used to sane cable innthe left second set of outputs - no crackle - and the left/mOno bit in the first set of outputs - with crackle0
