British Airways Ticket

Hi,
I've booked a ticket from New York to Glasgow with BA changing in Heathrow. All booked as one ticket. My question is that the itinerary only gives me 1hr 5mins to change planes, including clearing customs and immigration at Heathrow. If queues mean that I miss my connection, will BA transfer me to another flight, even though it wouldn't be their fault I missed it??

which airline do you arrive into Heathrow with? If you have to change terminals to T5 it will indeed be very tight but on a single ticket, BA will put you on the next available flight0

It's BA all the way through, and only terminal 5. I know if the flight was late in they would move me to the next available, but wasn't sure if it applied to things out of their control such as border controls.0

The Minimum Connection Time for transfers within Terminal 5 is 60 minutes and as others have said, if there is a delay they will indeed transfer you to the next flight, of which there are many!0

I am almost 100% certain you won't make a connection at T5 in 1h 5m.
We have twice had a 1h 30m connection coming in from Vegas. One time the flight was delayed and the other time we only made it by haring through the airport and because they held the flight.
Apart from the huge immigration queues, the biggest problem was getting through security. We told a member of staff that we had a connection due to depart and he wasn't interested. People had told us since that we should have asked to be Fast Tracked, but that wasn't offered.
Apparently they were paging us, but we never heard it. The T&Cs say that the plane doors are closed 20 mins before departure, but they kept them open until 10 mins before departure and were just about to close them as we got to the gate.
We don't even bother with that connection now and book the later one which makes for a much more relaxed experience.0 -
Would she go through immigration?0

If you're in t5 all the way you won't clear immigration till Glasgow, you'll stay in transit. One hour is doable, you're just changing gates. However, with that short a gap be prepared for your luggage not being on the gla flight with you.0

I thought that you had to clear immigration at the first port of entry into the UK? How would they differentiate between my group and the domestic passengers on the domestic flight?0

You would differentiate yourself.
Follow the signs for transit, show your ticket and don't clear immigration.
But I honestly don't know for sure, its been a long time since I have connected flights in the UK.0 -
