    So, the advice is now:

    READ FIRST, then bin it.

(I also know someone who got a judgement against somebody and they never paid.)

No never ever bin it, keep the threatograms somewhere safe, such as in an envelope in the bottom of a drawer.

At the moment theres two options:

First complain to the store/retail park, then either

Tell the PPC to sod off, as "I wont be paying your charge, so send me a popla code" then send of the reasons why to popla, if popla rules against them then they can ignore, but in some rare cases the PPC may try sending court papers, some PPCs have been known to send fake papers.

or Ignore all correspondance, but beware because in some rare cases the PPC may try sending court papers, some PPCs have been known to send fake papers.

    above all:
    if in doubt ask
Update ths place ( and others) each time you get a threat letter
Complain to the car park owner/store whereever possible.
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
