Wouldnt it be better to offer new posters the choice to use popla wher possible, or for a quite life to ignore the threat-o-grams, but let the forum know each time you get a new letter to make sure that the PPC isnt miss behaving, or that they arent chancing it with real court papers.

    as for this:
Again, sympathies for your £175 fine.
It is still not a fine, more of a court sanctioned fee ( that if the correct course of action was taken would be zero )

At the moment were still awaiting a PPc to try court/issue papers under the Protection of freedoms act keeper liability to a RK who genuinly was not the driver at the time, or to see popla/Protection of freedoms realy tested in the court system.
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

You must give advice that gives the user options, they decide what to do not us, they are the ones facing this not us. But if someone doesn't take seriously something with HM Courts in a document addressed to you what are we supposed to do ? This is a self help forum, sometimes people need to help themselves.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You may be correct, but what harm would it do to do as I suggested and might it do some good?

I know I have a bit of a cheek asking someone else to help, but s I said, I don't have a copy of an initial set of court papers.

It's been done before numerous times, and it was on the letter chain thread at some point, but most people faced with a document saying courts would look into it IMO

I am not saying it can't be done again but this is where more mistakes can happen, if someone who thinks its a fake claim then doesn't ask questions because they believe they have the answers. Then only to realise it was a real one to late.

Far better if they come back here and ask for further advice than assume anything

In his caravan ! We know that his company only gets default judgements, any properly defended cases are dropped like a stone as he's a nervous wreck in court

Maybe for Propaganda but as a business practice nope, unless he works for minimum wage!

In time and effort its not worth it. When I was in business if it was under £500 I wouldn't bother, I could make more in the time involved then pursuing a claim for less.

The OP in this instance needed a clean CRF so paid but I bet they have a few who haven't, so that will take away any profit. There is one we know of who is paying £225 at £5 a month!

Just because you get a judgement doesn't mean you get paid. I still have one in my files for £5K never received a penny on it!

As a business practice its a lose lose situation hence why the big companies don't bother!
