lots of similar complaints on twitter so we're not on our own...
I submitted two Employer Alignment Submissions this morning without any problems.
But I use Sage......0 -
nope, still no success. Even if I can delay the RTI till october, I still need to download the basic tools for the new financial year, which I can't do till the old one is shut down/finished.
even if you meet the criteria for the delayed deadline of October, you'd still have to file monthly anyway (link posted earlier), & yes, completely stuck in any scenario if using basic tools.
p.s. no gloating allowed from those using Sage!0 -

Sorry - but at least we know submissions have been received. Seems like a complete nightmare - no surprises there! Console yourself in continuing not to pay the exorbitant charges levied by the providers (RTI has encouraged them to charge what they like and that does not include the seminar/webinar rip offs).0 -
Don't think that will wash with my employees, who understandably want to know what they are going to take home this week0
-
i'll keep trying to submit on a daily basis, i fear it will be futile though for at least another week as HMRC have completely underestimated just how many people they have forced into submitting year end all at one time.
if i can't submit & download the new RTI version of basic tools, i'll just explain to our employee's that there's a problem & they'll be paid a basic week based on 2012/13 info. it will all be sorted when i can update to the new software & they'll be paid the extra that they'll be owed asap.
i imagine this will be ok for 1, perhaps, 2 weeks. after that, i have no idea. *note to self - buy a big tin hat*
HMRC have 100% created this situation so they'll just have to accept this. if i do have to do a month's wages this way (paying weekly but only running payroll monthly), it would actually meet the criteria for reporting once a month anyway, so should be ok. i'll just have to see when i get the new software.0 -
Typical, i've just managed to get through the server only to get the error message that it's already been submitted! Guess I'll have to ring them to make sure once and for all.0

same here! just tried & got this message now
"submission failed: Your Employer Annual Return has NOT been successfully submitted. The details are: Error returned from the HMRC Gateway
Return Type: You have already filed an original return."
which is as clear as mud, but isn't just the "submission failed, gateway busy" message that i had been getting on every single attempt previously.
if the on screen details tell you submission has failed (this screen & the 1st page of Submit Employer Annual Return - there is an outstanding employer annual return that has not been successfully submitted online to HMRC), of course you're going to keep trying. at no point in any previous attempts did it even look like any connection was made & absolutely no message to advise return submitted. do HMRC not understand this?
is it perhaps the case that the submission confirmation procedure isn't in place at the moment (delay in emails being sent as advised on HMRC website), so their own software doesn't even know a submission has gone through until you actually manage to connect & try again?? i have no idea.
i'm very tempted to just update basic tools to the new RTI version now & go ahead as normal.0 -
I've just received 12 emails telling me" Unfortunately it could not be accepted as it failed Inland Revenue data checks."
In amongst them was one "successfully received on 08-04-2013".
Amazing given that I haven't attempted a submission today.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. i'll be expecting about 50 emails of failed, & hopefully 1 successful! (bet it will be one of the 1st too...).
hopefully (fingers, toes & any other dangly bits crossed) this will be the last time we have this performance now RTI is here...perhaps not though eh?!0 -
