You mention Self Employment, that can be a visit from Compliance, usually after a case is processed though.

Even if you are doing a bit of self employed work you can still claim as long as they know about it and it is reviewed.
Who ever has written the letter knows your family circumstances well,
so I would think you dont have to look far...
I would still make a complaint if you think you have grounds, and to me I think you have.
I know its no comfort but you will get your money from your date of claim.
Why do you think you are owed 12k though :( its going to be a lot less

IS might pay about £130 - £150 a week (depending on DLA middle or high) CA about £58 a week.

Mortgage help will be owed (to the bank) after 3 months.

Who told you this, its not true PILON is treated as capital now, if you had under 16k you can claim

Are you sure it does not depend on the the end date of employment?

    26583

Where the employment was remunerative the PILON should be disregarded1.
1 IS (Gen) Regs, Sch 8, para 1(1)

so as long as the OP was Full time over 16 hours for I.S purposes
All claims have to go to accuracy to pass

I did not work , as I say and I said to my last employer, who was fully aware of my situation and I fought my redundancy to the point of accusing the fact that my redundancy was down to my wifes illness. I explained that I could not possibly find a job and put a employer into a situation that may warrant a sacking, As you can imagine a death of your wife is not an easy thing, needing time off work etc. Was even prepared to take it to a tribunal.
Also I was put into hospital myself with a severe pe , was in there for a week, then daily visits to the hospital for heparin injections and inr blood tests.for warfarin dose, this took me into January, was hospitalised November 26
so working was definatly out of the question as it was.

And yes its over that amount now, we are meant to be getting in all £559 a week , and because of my wifes illness the ca can be backdated as far as they can. So the dwp have explained.

Also it was the McMillan benefits advisor who told us we could not put any claim in until that date.

Why do you think 559 a week what benefits and premiums does this include?
    CA approx 58
    IS couple rate 111
    IS DP approx 43
    IS EDP approx 21
    IS CP approx 32
    CA deducted from IS
    total = 150 + 58

I do not know all the figures I have is CA back dated to 26 may. Then a figure of 506.41 a week plus CA. I presume this is all in, ie CTC , CB , DLA, I/S, DLA PREMIUM. I do not have a break down just figures that my wife has been given

Can I also add the the manager at the office we are dealing with offered compensation on the grounds that we cancel the claim to the I.C.E , this we refused, the first amount was £250 then raised to £500.We refused again.

Also we are not claiming for interest relief on the mortgage, I have a ppi policy in place, but are unable o make a claim on this due to not having any proof of benefits yet. Also have critical insurance policy so the mortgage will be paid off anyway.
I am unable to sort out my debts because of this farce, I am paying a token amount of a pound at the moment, and already twice this week I have had one crediter ringing me.

Surely you are already getting CB CTC & DLA
The only thing you would be waiting for is IS, CA and CTB.

    What does ICE stand for?

With CTC, CHB, DLA, I.S and C.A it could well be in the region of £500 and from October to date the total could be 12k.

But surely you are in receipt of DLA, CA, CHB and CTC at the moment.

Your I.S is only a top up and because you have a MP policy you will have no help with your mortgage.
Compensation is offered on complaints so hang in there with that

but I have never heard of ICE, where did you find out about this am interested.

Also how was CA backdated to May last year??
And you can get a number for compliance from your local BDC,
Have they given a date for the visit?

I feel for you this is a shambles
