George Osborne Caught Parking In Disabled Bay

Looks like George Osborne has been caught out again trying to bend the rules - this time it seems to be his car. Tomorrow's Mirror front page story apparently..... not Pleb Gate again? Maybe ParkGate!

Wasn't he the one who got caught in 1st class on the train without a ticket, a few months ago.
I suppose this time he thought well there aren't many disabled now 'cos they're all fit for work, so i'll just leave the car in this empty space.

  • Thats a good one - hilarious!! But, more seriously,,, now that We re All In This Together does this mean We Can All Park In It Together? Perhaps he's thinking of cutting,or charging fro, disabled parking bays - sayyyy,,, fifty quid for a badge? Nothing would now surprise me!

In Mr Osborne's defence, it's said he wasn't driving the car, and he didn't realise it was in a disabled space.

That's a waste of yellow paint then.

Good thing he wasn't driving, if his eyesight is so poor or he walks around in such a witless state.
  • embarrassingly for him, one pic clearly shows him standing by open back passenger door, presumably waiting to get in with his burger, with the bright yellow disabled symbol well shown on the ground in front of the car... perhaps he was in a rush and was freezing cold.. 'you know how it is officer' The old saying used to go 'if you want the convenient space then take the inconvenient disability too!'

"While he was inside the car was moved to a disabled bay. He does not condone what happened in any way.”

How can it be his fault then ? I don't like the guy but its the driver who moved the vehicle not him.

Unfortunately, disabled parking spaces in private car parks do not have "the force of law" and are nothing more than a parking space with a picture of a stick person in a wheelchair painted on them.

An able-bodied driver can park in them. OK, maybe they shouldn't, but they can. As long as there is still one other free space in the car park, they haven't inconvenienced any other driver, disabled or otherwise.

    He's still a [CENSORED], though.

And it's a damning insight into the minds of these people.

I shudder to think what they would've done, if a disabled driver had been in the space they wanted to use. "Put the stick on the ground and walk away from the car!"
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
