I presume they've never invented cupboards where you live. They are a great invention, they let you store things until some future point when you want to use them.

Storage is not the issue here. Purchase of significant amounts of alcohol plus an extreme reaction to a removal of an offer related to a subsequent significant purchase of more alcohol is though. Do you have lots of cupboards in your flat?

Martins money tips told us about Tesco wine offer , 25% off 6 bottles
so we did that and asked a member of staff how long the offer was on for and where told until 4th April. Today we went to get 6 more bottles and on checking our receipt found that we only got 5% off.
We were told by the Manager that Head Office had taken the offer off early ! After some conversation we came away feeling very angry that Tesco had the audacity to move the goal posts on their offer !
A phone call to Customer Services was also a waste of time , they are treating their customers with total disregard and to that end we will NOT be shopping there any more so they will loose a lot more that giving me the 20% they owe me.
We will now be shopping more at Waitrose where you do get treated with some respect and get a free coffee thrown in !
    SHAME ON YOU TESCO

I ordered my wine for Delivery on the 2nd of April, as that's when the offer finished for Grocery home deliveries, so not sure where the 4th of April came from?
    See below, from Tesco Website.

25% off wines, when you buy 6 bottles or more. Please be advised that this offer ... Offer valid for deliveries made on or between 25th March to 2nd April 2013

It was a good offer. Why wouldn't someone stock up? Do you assume anyone buying a large multipack of toilet roll has diarrhoea?

    And I don't live in a flat.

Stocking up on toilet rolls does not necessarily indicate a problem. Its a relatively essential item to have unlike 12 bottles of wine. If any right minded person was to visit you and see 12 bottles of low grade special offer wine hidden away then i am pretty sure what conclusion they would reach.

You have very strange (and rather poor) friends, if they jump to any sort of conclusion like that.

Why do you think someone stocking up on essential items is OK, but on non-essentials indicates a problem? Clearly the only problem here is with you, who cannot fathom that someone may bulk buy a product and store it, to use as and when they require.

You shoudl think yourself lucky getting 5%. We get sod all on in-store alcohol multiple buys up here thanks to our glorious Scottish Executive.

Have you thought about getting advice for your problem? 12 bottles is an awful lot of alcohol.
We took delivery of 36 bottles from Tesco bought on 30th March getting a list price of £245 (inc delivery) for £120 by taking advantage of all the offers going.

As I said to the driver at 2pm, "These will last me all afternoon."

Does thrifty buying make me an alcoholic? Does a glass of wine with dinner most evenings make me an alcoholic?
