Tesco moves the goal post on 25% wine offer !

Martins money tips told us about Tesco wine offer , 25% off 6 bottles
so we did that and asked a member of staff how long the offer was on for and where told until 4th April. Today we went to get 6 more bottles and on checking our receipt found that we only got 5% off.
We were told by the Manager that Head Office had taken the offer off early ! After some conversation we came away feeling very angry that Tesco had the audacity to move the goal posts on their offer !
A phone call to Customer Services was also a waste of time , they are treating their customers with total disregard and to that end we will NOT be shopping there any more so they will loose a lot more that giving me the 20% they owe me.
We will now be shopping more at Waitrose where you do get treated with some respect and get a free coffee thrown in !

I didn't know when the wine offer was going to finish, but nipped in today to have a look, and in fairness all the 25% off labels had been removed from the shelf ends, but there were some A4 sized notices advertising 5% off 6 bottles,so I didn't bother.I'm not a big Tesco fan BTW. Oh,I'm sure I read somewhere here that the Waitrose free coffee is due to come to an end 'soon'.
  • Not related to this offer but the Co op has done exactly the same to an offer they had. They advertised the availability from 29th 30th 31st and 1st then pulled the plug on the 1st when it still should have been available and stocks in the stores i visited were aplenty. They just said sorry offers not available!!! They even had signs up!! Seem to me there all the same!!! :(

To be fair to Tesco, most offers do often reserve the right to be withdrawn at anytime.
A couple of years ago I wanted to buy a laptop and Tesco had a really good deal on at the time. The wife wanted to buy it then in the store, but the label stated there were still 5 days left in the deal and being a good MSE I wanted to research further on the Internet.
After spending another day or so researching I couldn't find any comparable deals so went back to Tesco and unfortunately they had pulled the deal. I sent a strongly worded email :) and to be fair to them, someone from customer services rang me and explained their policy in a friendly manner.

Still ended up buying the laptop from them (otherwise wife may have killed me) and Tesco's is a private business and is there to make a profit, so I wouldn't hold grudges and not shop there.

I checked the validity of the 25% off deal last weekend on Tesco.com and established that the offer was valid until the 2nd April. (And that was only to double check what I thought I already knew from reading the actual instore banners.) So I don't think it's the case here that Tesco Central Command pulled the offer early, but that you were misinformed by your local Tesco.

Have you thought about getting advice for your problem? 12 bottles is an awful lot of alcohol.

I presume they've never invented cupboards where you live. They are a great invention, they let you store things until some future point when you want to use them.
