Euro Car Parks now calling me on my mobile

Hi, This is my first post, so be kind. Got a ticket in Morrisons, on Disabled , I have a blue badge, they say it wasn't displayed correctly.
I have ignored the letters, now we are onto to calls on my mobile, I dont know where they got my number.
I said I couldn't remember who was driving, they asked all sorts and I just said I wasn't paying. I have had two calls now. Today they said I should write to them to cancel the outstanding amount.( which keeps going up). I have no intention of putting anything in writing.
Am I correct with this ?
I am sure they are trying to worry me and get me to put it all in writing.
Any help please. Thanks

If you've got an Android phone you can download an App called "Call Blocker" which, not surprisingly, blocks calls and texts from specified numbers.
I'll leave it up to someone more knowledgable than me to explain how you can sue them for harrassment......The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

I believe that you do not need to display a Blue Badge on private car park with disabled bays. So whether it was displayed correctly or not is void!

Yep in fact if they knew you had a Blue Badge/were disabled and are harassing you then it's illegal, a breach of the Equality Act 2010.
Is it actually Euro Car Parks ringing you, or their debt collector firm? Whoever it is, tell them this:
'the alleged debt is denied, the 'parking charge' is null and void because it seeks to break disability law. You/ECP KNOW I am disabled and yet you are still harassing me which is illegal. Cease and desist all contact and cancel the fake PCN or I will sue you for damages for harassment and breach of disability law.'
If they say 'but you didn't display the BB correctly...' then interrupt, talk over them strongly and say that the BB scheme doesn't even apply on private land and you placing it on the dashboard in good faith is MORE than enough to indicate your disability need. Suggest that they read the disabled 'reasonable adjustment' requirement of the Equality Act 2010.
You know you really could sue them for money in damages? I suggest you go on the attack next time they ring. Or you could put all that in writing in a 'Letter Before Action' to Morrisons and Euro Car Parks (both of them) right now if you want them to cancel it once and for all. Morrisons will not like receiving a threat of Court!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, you were not correct. If this was post October 2012, you are supposed to tell them who was driving.
And if it was you, you have equality legislation on your side. If you can't remember, then you don't, unless you have other disabled people who drive your car.
Sometimes you need to think clearly and tell the truth - in this case it would have helped you. If they have it recorded that you said you don't know who was driving, then you have scuppered your legitimate defence.
Let's hope they haven't, though. In any case, follow c-m's advice for now.0 -

I disagree with you, there is no obligation to tell the parking company anything at all, so there is no supposed to do anything. A voice recording means nothing in cases like this, it's similar to photographic evidence, meaning precisely very little in cases like this. And if they have recorded the OP without first telling them first I can't see that going anywhere. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I agree. However, if you want to use a defence as suggested by c-m based upon driver being disabled, then you need to declare who was driving and confirm they are disabled.
So, if OP wants to use the "Ignore" approach, you are right.
If OP wants to use "Disabled driver & I don't need to use a Blue Badge" , then saying "I don't know who was driving" scotches that appeal point, unless the only other driver is also disabled.0 -
Or, presumably, the other driver could have been conveying someone who was disabled and who needed reasonable adjustment made for them.0

Just to clear up a few points, I have the Blue Badge, sometimes I drive myself, other times my husband drives me.
I just dont feel that I should have to tell someone , who I dont know, at the other end of a phone any of my details.
I did explain that there was a badge in the car, but didn't say who it belonged to, as they didn't ask. I answered the questions they asked, but didn't give any other info to them.
Right or wrong, I am still not paying them, I just feel that as they know my name and my address they may also know my age (well in 60's) and they are trying bully tactics, that all.
Thank you all for the useful information already received.0 -

Defence of what ? The OP has already said they have ignored "the letters" which would suggest its to late to use popla if in England or Wales . Nothing needs to be done except ignore them. If the OP wants to go on the defensive and threaten to sue them for breaches of the equality act then so be it, but unless they are seriously considering this then ignore is the best way. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
