Just gave them a call to find out what the maximum balance might be before I applied and had a credit check done only to find out what they offered would not be enough. I was told that the maximum balance they would give is £10k.0

Just got my refusal in the post today - at least they were prompt

We applied and were advised a reply would be sent to email in 48 hours. Just wondered if this is standard or if we will be refused.
got the email yesterday and was accepted , the only prob is, I was looking for a £7.5k credit limit ( keep my stooze pot going) but all they would give me was £5kIt's nice to be Important

I applied for mine Yesterday. I'm still waiting for my email. £5000 @0% and stored in ING would do nicely for me. I note that the BT must be done within the first 30 days. Has anyone done one yet and got verbal confirmation of the 9 months at 0% (not 6 months)?0

if you phone and get a call centre in India, then they don't know about this promotion. I spoke to cust services uk and they said that the 9 month offer is on trail regionally(Granada, North West only) and that it would apply to me living in the said region. Does this mean that you get rejected or offered 6 months otherwise. They said that they were inundated with applications (thanks MSE!). I got accepted via e-mail after 3 days, awaiting credit limit offer in post.0

I live in the south (and got accepted ) must have been lucky - you can ring them on the freephone no,they will tell you your credit limit ,just quote the ref no on the emailIt's nice to be Important

I've just rung the &MORE department of a large store in the Midlands and they confirm that the 9 months offer is available from that store. I suggest you ring you local store, ask to speak to the person in charge of the M&S credit cards and ask them whether they have the 9 months offer there. If they do, then apply for the card in the store and fill your basket with goodies as you will get 10% off your purchases that day. (It's probably a good idea to confirm the details with customer services IN THE STORE itself BEFORE you start to do your shopping to avoid any possibility of confusion.)
The 10% offer is granted irrespective of whether your card application is eventually accepted - you get 10% off your bill just for applying. I was told they don't even make any phone calls - you just fill in the application form in the store and you get the 10% deducted from your purchases. You can pay for your purchases any way you like (i.e. it doesn't go onto your M&S card, which makes sense as no one will know whether you've been accepted yet).
Provided your local store has the offer (and previous posts suggest there isn't a regional bias), it's better to apply in-store .... unless you don't like ANY of M&S products!
Be sure to take some proofs of ID - driving license, recent bill etc.0 -
I applied for this card back in December and got rejected. The letter of rejection explained to me why I was rejected and gave me an experian leaflet. The reason why I was rejected was due to the number of searches in December (about 5 if I could remember). What are the chances they still have my name on record? Or should I leave it alone for a bit more?Olympic 2007 challenge Started 9 Jan 2007[strike]Aim Silver 2007.00[/strike] Aim Gold 3007.00 Achieved so far:782
