I'm sure I'd lose weight too if I wasn't allowed to eat fast food, cakes and chocolate! :PHi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. Hi, happy to hear you are having a positive experience with vegan diet/foods. I went vegan about 6and a half years ago after being veggie for a long time. I discovered that I put on a lot of weight as a veggie. I think this was due to using cheese as a meat substitute especially when trying to eat out. I didn't even like cheese that much but all food places seem to have this as their default setting, take off the meat and swap it for a hunk of cheese.
When I decided to go vegan, I gave myself 2 months to learn about what to have/ avoid, vitamins etc and to get some practise in everyday meals/ recipes. It worked really well for me and I too found the weight just melted away effortlessly (about 2 stone in 4 months) It didn't quite reduce to my pre-veggie weight but then again I discovered a lot of really good vegan cake recipes lol.
Just went to the northern vegan festival on Saturday. FAB, could'nt believe how busy it was! Lots of lovely people and came home with some goodies and a lot of info.
Enjoy! xxahimsa

Just thought I 'd share my experiences. I have been vegan for 3 months now and have lost about 10lbs without trying or changing any other elements of my lifestyle. I'm almost 46 and feel very well indeed. I too was worried about the increased carbs causing weight gain, but that concern has been unfounded (although I don't tend to eat refined carbs, or sugar, as I don't have a sweet tooth. I do, however, have a healthy appetite for cider, wine and spirit...)0

Strange comment given there are plenty of those options that are vegan0
